Its plainly obvious we are waiting for the Nathan Cleary decision before making any decision

Extremely risky game unless they already know the answer …....

Pretty sure Cleary knows what he's doing…N that is..

No way N Cleary Tigers bound , he said as much in the interview with out saying anything you know what I mean right.

He said nothing of the sort.

One of our top 30 spots? Another seasoned first grader in the prime of his career! Come on recruitment team - sign someone we can get excited about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The word excited in the same sentence as the WestsTigers big call …

Tigers steal Latrell Mitchell from Roosters because he wants to play finals footy - 5 year deal. THAT’S WHAT I WANT TO READ IN THE SIGNINGS THREAD.

I can not remember the last signing that actually got me excited you know that game changer ….one can only hope that one day in the not to distant future the club can sign a couple of in there prime top liners to really get excited about!

Don't rate Mbye?

What do we have to do, sign back Tedesco?

Frankly. These are the kind of signings to get excited about.
It means that the current junior deadwood is out of favour and we are actually looking outside our own backyard for talent.
Young and eager, has size and speed and wants to play first grade.
South signed a bunch of these guys a couple years back, they did suffer from a lean year or two but they may have come down to other reasons you don’t know. Ultimately though, these signings improved their depth dramatically.
Robert Jennings, Tyrell Fuimaono, Braidon Burns, Hymel Hunt, Richard Kenner were all signed to Souths in the last 2 years.
I actually like the direction the club is taking in these signings.

Im with you Needaname.

This is how you build a competitive roster.

A couple of name signings once the finals are over and things are on track.

Also, someone behind Latrell and Manu at the Roosters can still be a very good footballer.

Damien Cook spent a lot of time behind other rakes and look how that turned out.

Not just those two, add Will Chambers next year

Manu can do some great things but he's a fairly dodgy defender and has recently shown a pretty bad tendency to hog the ball and go for glory (I say that as a long-time Blake Ferguson owner in SuperCoach who pays particular attention to these things…)

He must be at least in the mid 90kg range. Only a brief look but seems strong enough for NRL.

Wiki says

Born
19 July 1996 (age 22)
Sydney, Australia
Height
1.91 m (6 ft 3 in)
Weight
88 kg (13 st 12 lb)

1 down 6 to go. Possibly 4 if Benji and Faf stay on. Hoping for an outside back, front rower, back rower and a backup half (or Nathan).

Recruiting young talent is the smarter play than washed up veterans. Twal, Aloai, Marsters, JAC, Koro etc albeit we didn’t retain them all were smarter than Rochow, Mcilwrick, Grant. Etc.

I no Manu fanatic but he'd make the Tigers top 13.

Yeah Souths are starting to benefit from it with guys like Campbell Graham and Braidon Burns. I hope we see more signings like this.

Agree, much prefer a younger player over the likes of Rochow, Mcilwrick, Grant etc.
