All the best to Ben but I recall a thread here some time ago that Cleary forced through the signings of Matulino, Reynolds and Packer without medical clearances. If that is the case, WT are sure paying the price. Also, if the case- Pascoe should be crucified by the Board for his sign off of these contracts despite insufficient medical clearance.



I put it on here and was laughed at and the guy who told me that was also said that when Packer went to Mary's office to inform him of the big offer from the Tigers Mary stood up from his chair and shook Packers hand and said congratulations and good luck Packers hip already gone by then

And also the the guy i know keeps going on to me that the Tigers are chasing hard for a top young player who is under 22 and has a contract with a club for next year and is close to breaking to join the Tigers to play under Madge

@Regan hi Regan, thank you so much for the insight, always helpful and appreciated! Any idea which club/region said player might hail from, as I’ve also got a fair idea (of who we might need)

However the player I’m hearing isn’t regarded as much of a gun and has reportedly been able to strike up a good enough deal for next yr with us?

My mate wont tell me to much till it is signed he says i talk to much and will tell everyone which i will

I got in trouble off him before when i said on this forum that the Dragons coach got a two year extension before it came out in the press hes good friends with Mary and Brownie at Newcastle

But the good news is he keeps on telling me that Madge is 110 percent professional no short cuts no B/S

Dragons cross over Sharks territory and encroach Bulldogs. Tigers encroach Bulldogs/Parramatta. They were also the most likely to fall over at one stage but things have changed.

The big issue Wests have is the leagues clubs are in dependant of the footy club. In contracts Parrra/Dogs and Penrith the leagues club is setup for the benefit of the footy club and members.

@TYGA Who was “most likely”? Wouldn’t you say we encroach moreso with Penrith? Though, iven their nursery and leagues club is an obvious reason for security as well as supporter base - we have supporter base, recent(ish) success that the sharks didn’t replicate until 2016 and seem to have completely cheated it (lost all semblance of a good footy side since) - we have fallen down the pecking order.

Dragons imo are the ones that could very well be on the brink when their much older and wiser public backers, ex-players and sponsors pass on or move to other endeavours - should be counting themselves lucky not to be in the conversation ATM.

Bulldogs really aren’t much better but have the richest history of all the aforementioned clubs.

Don’t get me started on Parramutta. What about Manlt though? Why did you rank them 3

Agree Dufty would be terrible as would Aitken,dragons fans would be overjoyed if some club was silly enough to take either just as they were when Dugan left

The Rabbitohs have signed Papua New Guinea international Edene Gebbie on a two-year deal, starting in 2020.

I have been banging on about this guy for 6 months as a player we should have chased. Will be interesting how he goes in a good side. Big and fast. Was poor in the world cup but with good players around him could be anything.

I would be delighted to get Lomax but unless something has dramaticaly changed at the dragons in the last 12 months i cant see it happening as he is at the top of their "must keep" players

I don’t know but unlike Simpkins all 3 are Intrust cup players & are still under contract at the Broncos


So from what you're saying its the like of Patrick Mago and George Fai. Not sure they're going to make a difference for us. Gambling on younger talent in the hopes of finding a gem may be the go

1 is George Fai, all three would make a massive difference, although Souths are also now showing interest in Fai

Wests and St George allowed the Dogs into the competition. They don’t care about history it’s about eliminating what’s perceived as the weaker Sydney Clubs.

My view has always been that if amalgamation and expansion are the way to go then Balmain, West’s and Canterbury would form one inner outer west super club and St George, Illawarra and Cronulla manage the south.
Only then could those entities truly compete with large conglomerates such as Brisbane, Melbourne and Easts/Souths.
