I reckon it is bad luck having two players with the same surname who aren't related at our club

Tbh most of our players seem like bad luck. Every year...

@Yossarian iam not sure about others on the forum, but i am just about over with the way our club is been run. are retention over the last 4-5 years has been woeful to say the least, to let masters to walk and also let matterson pick and chose if he plays when he has a contract for the next two years. why don't we just let them all walk and we just play in the reserve grade comp. the club needs to grow a set and start telling these players who is in charge. we will be lucky to not get the spoon next year IF THINGS KEEP GOING THE WAY THERE GOING. i really thought things would improve when we signed madge, but again all are club gets is heartache, cant see any TOP signings coming, i hope there is a silver lining but things look dire.

This is mid October and clubs are not allowed to sign new players until 1st November at earliest. Hold onto your horses until then. I am sure that Lomax will be a Wests Tiger as will Musgrove. The way I see things there will also be at least two more quality signing before the end of the year.

Not ones that have contracts for 2020. Some may have been given permission to negotiate and test the market but can do zilch until a Release is formally approved by their current club.

Yes so they only players we are waiting until Nov1 for are players for 2021 not 2020.

Maybe its just me but i actually think we are on the right track. The signing will come but if youve studied Pascoe and the way the club moves in the last few years they do not buy into the media speculation and often are doing things a little differently than people think.

See if im wrong but i think we will come out of this Matterson, Reynolds, packer, Mautalino kind of mess in a really good place. perhaps even by next season.

@jirskyr They're not wrong though. Hopefully things pick up soon.

I'd probably feel more confidence in the club if we said to Matterson that he doesn't have to play for us, but he is definitely not playing for anyone else the next two years.

Wouldn't hold my breath. Definitely not for 2020 anyway.

Think Souffs and Bennett have to big a leg in for us to have a chance in 2021 as well.

@rustycage All good. There are some encouraging talents coming through in my opinion. We mightn’t have superstars but we do have a very good group.

Let’s hope they all keep improving.

The point being; the Club doesn't have to say anything at all to Matterson. He is contracted to play for WT.
Sort it yourself Matto, to our satisfaction, and you can F off with our blessings. Otherwise guess what?

Not right either, just an opinion.

The reality is this is the offseason and if anyone is waiting with bated breath for big positive, even small positive, changes, in rapid time, they are probably going to be disappointed. Lay back, enjoy Summer, grab a beer, mow the lawn, worry about our readiness for Rd 1 in February 2020.

Signing news should be quiet for a few weeks. Once November 1 hits, there should be a lot of news from all clubs then, as players will be returning in only 1-2 weeks after that. I think I'll check back in November.

Definitely not trying to be negative here, but I am not sure what you mean by that?

Our signings have been:
Musgrove: Banned for a year / sexual assault charges
Jennings: Possibly the worst outside back in the comp / had a terrible season
Billy Walters: At 25 has played one NRL game / did not dominate QLD footy, but was solid. Hopefully decent depth.

I don't see the trend of "good signings" you mention?
