@Madge I understand where you’re coming from, but for the last decade we’ve been doing that and it’s got us nowhere

Singing proven first graders would be a much better alternative than relying on players who have barely even played any reserve grade.

Yeah I remember signing a nobody like that called Josh Addo Carr.

@momo_amp_medo

And then what happened, signed with a bigger club while we’re left in the mud seems to be becoming a lot more frequent

Tim Sheen's would be proud of this thread.
He was the king of unconventional position changes but some of you guys run a close second.

Your changing the subject. Are you saying we shouldn’t sign anyone because they will always sign with another club.

Tigers considering Rabbitohs raid
The Tigers are considering signing promising Souths winger Mawene Hiroti.

The Kiwi-born centre/winger debuted for the Rabbitohs in 2018 and played four games last season, scoring one try.

With Esan Marsters on the move, the Tigers’ stocks are looking a little skinny out wide and the 20-year-old Hiroti should help boost their depth.

A former Australian Schoolboy, Hiroti was named in the Canterbury Cup NSW team of the year this season.

Fringe first grader anyone

Cam Murray considering a switch to thr roosters..

What bull

This one I found good too...

David Fifita will go on the "open market" from Nov 1 with Broncos in no rush to re-sign him. Warriors among major suitors who will table offer... Tigers and South Sydney as well. Broncos very confident of re-signing Fifita...

You are kidding, but the roosters do have a special cap

G'day @pawsandclaws1: Yep, you're not wrong.

I finished reading one of the books about him just today...J.W.G. Defending A Killer.

He was a very sick man and should not have been given the death penalty.

You and I don't have the right to take anyone's life.

Idk where you got that from, what I’m saying is that we should stop relying on nothing signings to save our season hoping they turn good as it’s got us nowhere the last decade.

We should shift our attention to signing proven first graders, nothing wrong with signing some youngsters but when we rely on them to be the change needed that’s when you know we’re not doing things right.

Promising youngsters come through well when they are surrounded by proven first graders. Promising youngsters given too much responsibility too early end up moving to parra, roosters and sharks.....

Some times i think these guys are just joining some dots. Tigers lose back so MUST be on the lookout for new back.

Never mind Mybe, Momirovski, Talau, Nofo, Thompson etc who all need spots

If Hiroti signs and Moylan comes accross what happens to players like Corey Thompson good all performer heres something out of left field how would Thompson go as Hooker would be quick out of dummy half and could end up a Damian Cook type player Thoughts

It provides us with competition for positions. That’s what every successful roster has!

Unless you're cheating, you can't build a roster by signing proven first graders. They are, by definition, expensive. It's fine to have some expensive players, of course, but you can only afford a few of them.

Here's the Raiders 17 that played the grand final:
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad: played 7 games for the Warriors, basically surplus to requirements.
Nick Cotric: Raiders junior.
Jarrod Croker: Raiders junior.
Joseph Leilua: had played 100+ games but basically unwanted by Newcastle.
Jordan Rapana: 5 first grade games for the Titans, out of the game.
Jack Wighton: Raiders junior.
Aiden Sezer: had played 70-odd games for the Titans but was surplus to requirements.
Josh Papalii: Raiders junior.
Josh Hodgson: signed from England.
Sia Soliola: had played 90-odd games for the Roosters but had been in England for years.
John Bateman: signed from England.
Elliott Whitehead: signed from England.
Joesph Tapine: played 20 games for Newcastle but was basically surplus to requirements.
Bailey Simonson: Raiders junior.
Emre Guler: Raiders junior.
Corey Horsburgh: signed from the Cowboys prior to NRL debut.
Dunamis Lui: had played 80 first grade games for three clubs over seven seasons - more or less the definition of a fringe first grader.
