Idk where you got that from, what I’m saying is that we should stop relying on nothing signings to save our season hoping they turn good as it’s got us nowhere the last decade.
We should shift our attention to signing proven first graders, nothing wrong with signing some youngsters but when we rely on them to be the change needed that’s when you know we’re not doing things right.
Unless you're cheating, you can't build a roster by signing proven first graders. They are, by definition, expensive. It's fine to have some expensive players, of course, but you can only afford a few of them.
Here's the Raiders 17 that played the grand final:
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad: played 7 games for the Warriors, basically surplus to requirements.
Nick Cotric: Raiders junior.
Jarrod Croker: Raiders junior.
Joseph Leilua: had played 100+ games but basically unwanted by Newcastle.
Jordan Rapana: 5 first grade games for the Titans, out of the game.
Jack Wighton: Raiders junior.
Aiden Sezer: had played 70-odd games for the Titans but was surplus to requirements.
Josh Papalii: Raiders junior.
Josh Hodgson: signed from England.
Sia Soliola: had played 90-odd games for the Roosters but had been in England for years.
John Bateman: signed from England.
Elliott Whitehead: signed from England.
Joesph Tapine: played 20 games for Newcastle but was basically surplus to requirements.
Bailey Simonson: Raiders junior.
Emre Guler: Raiders junior.
Corey Horsburgh: signed from the Cowboys prior to NRL debut.
Dunamis Lui: had played 80 first grade games for three clubs over seven seasons - more or less the definition of a fringe first grader.
