Equally, I think Tigers were right to release Moses and Matto at their respective times. Moses, according to Cleary has downed tools. Matto wasn’t buying into Madge’s culture - not the first time he clashed with coaches. Maybe a fair criticism could be that Tigers should have extracted a return or break fee, but that doesn’t mean Tigers didn’t act in a commercially sound way in releasing these players. But why waste our energy bashing the Eels for taking their own position - it takes us nowhere.

This "unproven"kid (not 20yo, almost 22, almost the same age as LM) is on $600K. You dont think that is why Bennett is pushing him out? But we should leap to Souffs aid and pay him $2.4M over 4 years? If we are any chance of securing a player like JAC then we need to hold funds in reserve, not blow it on a Jack Of All Trades.
Corey is more in the Tedesco mould than Doueihi so let’s show some patience and ready ourselves for the JAC showdown - guns are 10 paces.
Also, quality players will be released by clubs to be cap compliant and will be forced to pay freight.

I don't think there is any dought that Doueihi will excel even more over the next few years
How much is anyone's guess
I only took notice of him in the finals last year and you can see by those performances that he has a great career ahead of him
He may not be a Tedesco or a Mitchell but he will be very good
Mitchell on the other hand may well struggle over the next few years if playing fullback
I don't think he is mentally strong enough to keep fit enough to play fullback to the best of his ability
He will need to watch his diet
I seem to remember earlier in his career he had issues with his weight and was sidelined for it
Doueihi on the other hand doesn't seem to have a problem with his weight
His nrl career is young and he looks very dangerous when he has the ball in hand
Is he worth 5 to $600,000 now
Probably not just yet
Will he be worth 5-$600,000 in the next year or two
In my opinion I would say yes if he can continue to build on his finals form
If he plays Fullback or in the Halves he will be worth far more in the future
I think we would be lucky to have him in our side

At best AD is a minor upgrade on CT at full back. AD adds a ball playing option and a kicking option. CT is a superior ball runner and defender (based on tackles missed).

If AD wants $600k next year and a four year deal, then I can understand why we have walked away.

Geez Glenn seriously? It has been widely reported he is highly rated by Bennett (it’s why he played him fullback last year) and Bennett knows he wants to play 1 or 6. They signed him up thinking he’d be their long term fullback/five eighth but then LM comes along and Walker is re-signed. Bennett doesn’t want to stifle his career so he’s told him he’s free to move elsewhere in order to play his position as that is what Doueihi wants.

He’s a great player but they have One if the best players in the game at fullback and a very good, long term 5/8. It would be stupid of them to retain Doueihi. He’s not a centre and he’s not a winger and I have no idea why people keep calling him a utility.

He is no more a utility than Latrell Mitchell. He hasn’t played much fullback in his first grade career but you were happy to pay him $1m a season.


Latrell Mitchell played fullback, at 19yo, for the best and richest team in the world for 16 of his first 17 games. After 14 weeks he had played more games at fullback in first grade than Doueihi has in his whole career and he tore up and was already a superstar. Thank you for proving my point.

Latrell isless than 18 months older than Doueihi and has played four seasons of NRL, played for for Australia and SOO, but yeah Doueihi has played for Lebanon.
