I think you are misrepresenting the views of many on here. I don't think anyone is suggesting that AD is not a talented young footballer. And most would be happy for him to join the club. The issue is the price. If it's true that he wants a four year deal and $600k next year, then many of us think that it's too much at this stage of his career.

so why do we see things differently to the Roosters? Why do they feel like he is worth talking to assuming he’s asking the same thing.

“Many of us think that it’s too much at this stage of his career”.

At what stage then would he be worth his asking price?
We lost Moses who thought he was worth $800k. We thought that was too much at his stage of his career. Eels thought they would encourage Moses to live up to his own expectations rather than putting him down.

When has a player ever signed with the Roosters at the figures that are being reported? They might be talking to him but they have the sombrero rep for a good reason.

Firms/companies hire out the ferry fleet on Australia Day. At least they used to.

A mate of mine invited me to a Coca-Cola do one year.

Douehi will get the money he wants there, 350k contract, the rest topped up in the bag ?

They’ve lost Cronk and Mitchell. Pretty sure they can afford him without paper bags. Watch him go on and develop into a star.

Nah ...he’ll be the next Moltzen
ACL ✅
Thinks he’s a fullback ✅
Thinks he’s a 5/8 ✅
Dodged a bullet ?

They couldn’t be more different. Moltzen was a coward, that’s what his biggest issue was. No heart. Doueihi the complete opposite, he’s all heart. I think not signing him will turn out to be a mistake. He was more important than Leilua imo.

Your kidding yourself...anyone who plays NRL is no coward. I saw Moltzen make some unbelievable one on one tackles. Okay he was not the best no1 but he sure was not a coward

Hey not saying he wasn’t a good player, he had a couple of great years with us. Enormous talent and maybe coward is a bit harsh. Didn’t have a lot of heart though imo.

They think they can get him cheaper because he wants to go to a "good" club or because he knows his pockets will get filled in other ways. I don't think he'll be getting $650k from them.

I’m not so sure about that. He’s got a guaranteed position in our spine here, not so much there. If you’re an up and coming player you’d want to be playing in your preferred position imo.

Hence the "they think". I like him as a player and we surely have more to offer him on the field. $650 is too rich for my tastes though.

He had a very serious head injury while playing as a teenager which I think made him a little gunshy in contact. Hardly a coward though!

Are they replacing Tedesco or Keary..?

True - if and huge IF Tedesco has torn a pec he is out for 3 months from mid January which means he is back in April - so Douehi then goes to the centre to replace Smith. And next year he gets to sit on the bench at the rorters. And for this the rorters are going to sign him for 4 years at 600k. Looks pretty much like a done deal.

Guess whose back

What’s this I’m hearing about BJ. I saw the forgotten man call the signing official, and I googled him and he’s listed as playing for us on his wiki. Yet I can’t find any official announcement or anything on here about it. I need to know cos I’m almost back in Sydney Harbour, and need to know if I’m jumping over board and swimming back out to the Pacific.

Welcome back. I’d be waiting on the dock for a while yet. He’s all but signed, but apparently there’s an issue so it’s not set in stone. No idea what the issue is, but it’s holding up the official announcement.

In that case, it’s a tad underwhelming but beggars can’t be choosers. BJ circa 2016 was one of the most devastating players in recent memory.
