The “looking out for my family” routine is cliche rubbish. These guys are earning high six figures. The average joe earning 150k can easily look after his family. These guys are making triple that.

I reckon footy players would be wasting a lot of it... especially the ones who aren’t educated in investing.
Remember they only have an average career of 10 years.

I know they are only working for 10 years, but they are earning about as much as a working man (or woman) would over 30 years.

The average NRL career is only 5 years

Yes I was waiting for someone to say that. Do you by chance happen to know the average salary of the players who have played for five years? Not the cap divided by the number of players, but the average salary of a player who has played for five years?
Look at it like this, of the players now who debuted five years ago, what's their average salary over their career?
Because I bet it would be north of $300k, which is plenty more than 3 times the average wage and the same as what I said.

Euan Aitken was a fringe origin player. Can be lapsed in defence but overall he has it. Mary is a career killer.

Show me where he rates our squad and is genuinely excited about joining this club. More like he knows Canberra didnt want him and we offered him a life line. His brother being here is the only reason he bought in.

If that isnt true then he really needs to work on his off field persona and media game. But hey this is the ride that is BJ.

If he genuinely did not like this club and wasn't excited about being here then he wouldn't be here and Madge wouldn't have signed him
But we can disagree it's all good

We all have our own opinions on who we should sign and who would be good for our club

I like AD and think he would be a great signing
He will improve a lot and I think most of us can see that, but to some he doesn't even rate.
We all see different things in people wether good or bad
Some people are optimistic and some are pessimistic
That will never change

Liddle is first choice hooker once he is fully recovered and fit,Benji has only ever filled in at hooker, his defence would let him down if kept in that position,Mybe is a better defender than Benji and Reynolds imo,has a good passing and kicking game,good speed out of dummy half and capable of playing big minutes.Dont think he will play 80 minutes though, most likely Walters will play the last 10 mins of the first half,and first 10 of the second.

Generally agree, though you chew up a quarter of the 8 interchanges when using a mid game hooker rotation, so I would prefer 20/25 mins in, or similar remaining.

Aiken was a decent.player but was awful last year.

The brothers Leilua playing together will motivate each other. Always been a Lucy fan maybe he can positively influence his dumbass brother.

Not having Widdop there until late in the season meant a lot less decent ball getting out wide, so likely a big contributor.

Why? They do something wrong? Can't be to relieve cap pressure because we already have plenty of cap space. A player to give Melbourne for JAC maybe? Hopefully?
