The PNG fullback?

Yes. There’s some interest there.

You think he might start at fullback for Souths?

I don't reckon woke is tipping Rabbitos possible promotions, could he be heading our way?

Didn’t he only sign with Souths quite recently?

Not too sure but what’s it really matter these days anyway? He’s probably the best fullback and winger at the club. About to see how much they rate him I believe

What would our plans be for him? Short term wing, long term 1 (if the plan is for AD to take the 6).

I don't think you could play him on the wing - he's tiny and doesn't seem like he's got much tackling ability.

Packer will be the highest paid Canterbury Cup player for the next 2 years. He won’t leave and no one will make him an offer

Disagree - he is raring to go in the NRL.

You seem confident Packer can get back To his best. He looked disinterested even when fit last year. What has changed?

From reports on here, he has been training the house down (interruption by a minor injury a few weeks ago), is keen as mustard.

He was hardly ever fit last year due to the toe injury, surgery and the inability to train properly and get fit. This leads to being a little lethargic and being disinterested. He also had issues with Madge which have been resolved I believe.

So, I believe he is all good to go for 2020.

Haven't seen enough of him to assess his tackling ability but I can't recall him being overly short. Wiki says 6ft.

If Packer is as keen as mustard i hope it is the English variety and not the French German or American(banal) one which he was last year

Hope they didn't mix that up and he is actually mean as custard.

If Packer rips in and doesnt have a sook i think he could be good for us this year, back to his enforcing best not his powder puff 40 metre gains.

Not sure what the point of signing him would be. In terms of wingers we now have Nofo, Jennings, Thompson and maybe Tommy but he would be wasted there - he should be one of the centres with BJ. For fullback we now have Douhei & Thommo. If we did sign him I doubt he'd replace any of these.

Hard to believe that either Thommo or Jennings could be sitting in CC for most of the season in any case. What a waste of money!

As for any juniors coming through, if we did sign Gebbie, it would seem we don't think they have the talent. I think we should at least see how they fare in Jersey Flegg and CC first before rushing out and signing unproven players wily nily.

we just resigned Corey for a couple more years and I know Madge loves his passion and commitment so I would say Jennings will see reserve grade

He looks like he may have some X factor which our wingers maybe don’t

Maybe Panthers are still interested in Corey or we are looking at it as part of a deal with Souths on a forward

Lots of possibilities and if Madge & Co see something worthwhile I’m happy to go with that

Jennings would have to have a VERY BIG year to earn another contract. I don't see it being renewed.

The side is looking good honestly. If we get this hooker that fullback and hooker are sorted.

But, can anyone tell me what we are going to do about Lock?

ET makes tackles and slows the play the ball(gives away penalties too) but only makes 50m or so a game.

Eisenhuth is a good defender but too slow in his hit ups.

Ailioa would be good but for fitness and ninjuries.

We need anlock who can play 80 minutes, run 100m+ and make 30-35 tackles. Any ideas? Think Twal is too slow in attack.

I'd put some kgs on Lawrence and move him into the middle.

An interesting thought. Not sure he needs to put on much weight. He would be at around 100kgs now. He hits the line hard in attack and is an excellent front on defender.

I'd be happy to see more clubs
working together and weakening
both agent/journalist influence.
