No More Highly Paid Forwards at the end of their careers and with history of major Injuries.
Certainly not highly paid, bargain basement. If he had nowhere to go and we got him super cheap***, then why not?*** Signing Matt Ballin didn't do any damage, apart from being a joke, because he was on stuff-all contract.
Because we only have 30 cap slots. Everyone keeps suggesting we keep buying forwards. There is only so many spots available
The current Top 29 (1 spot spare) includes Sam McIntyre and Dylan Smith, and personally I don't think either of them will play first grade unless some massive injury crisis. I would have no issue if Ryan James was in that category, as a potential low-cost option to round out the roster.
If we signed better forwards than Ryan James, so be it.
Shines a light on the potential for problems with these development contracts. WT would have to add Heath Gibbs to the list if he had not left, to now have three of them that probably won't play in the top grade.
