He wants to play in the centres if he leaves Raiders. Poor investment if we spent our money on him to play in centres

What’s the go with that ? Centre is probably the lowest paying position on the field in today’s game . You can now make a career being a good defender and offering minimal in attack .
There’s still this kind of outdated thinking to that . Analytics show it’s like the running back in NFL . The difference between great and replacement level is minimal . (Elite like Morris and manu are still of value).
Does cotric really offer bang for buck in the centres ? When he’s an elite winger , which is hard to find .

As a general rule of thumb, people should not comment on the talents of a player until you've seen them in at least 6 matches.

Way too many idiots that change their opinions on players on a weekly basis. Not just in relation to Saab, it's a standard thing. If Mck scores a double this weekend and he's king of the world. Miss a couple of tackles the week after and he's useless and dropped according to many.

If you want to judge Saab's talents, watch the replays of the nrl games he played last year, as well as replays/highlights of his CC games. Then you can start making informed opinions.

Rather people have a go at a 19yo. How many 19 year olds do we have in the nrl? None. Our rookies don't debut till like 20-21. The kid is clearly unhappy and in a bad mental place, asked for 3 releases in a month. Put him in a dysfunctional team up against the best team in the comp and dont be surprised that he's not at his best.

I saw what the fuss was about to be honest . A couple of times he out leaped Tupou , and showed if he had a more creative middle , he could fly . But a few bad defensive reads , where he was trying to make an all or nothing play , really can be attributed to youthful exuberance rather than a lack of talent .

He is a good player but he is NSW country through and through from Cooma. He won't leave so we need to devote our resources to realistic targets.

He actually has family in Sydney and he also has his car at a performance place in Western Sydney currently getting work done.

Melbourne Storm and Wests Tigers are reportedly weighing up another swap deal that could involve Josh Addo-Carr, with the Origin speedster seeking a move back to Sydney next season.

The two players are due to return to their respective clubs next season, however, according to The Australian's Brent Read, Melbourne may look to re-negotiate the deal and involve Addo-Carr.

The superstar winger dropped a bombshell in the off-season when he requested a release from the final two years of his contract to enable him to move home to Sydney where his family reside.

The Storm denied the Kangaroos and NSW Blues star an immediate release, but agreed to let him go after the 2020 season.

There have been strong links between Addo-Carr and his former club the Tigers since the release request was made, and Read told Triple M the Storm potentially ask to keep Momirovski permanently along with another player in exchange for 'The Foxx'.

"This is one that's been simmering away beneath the surface for quite a while now," Read said on Triple M Saturday.

"There's talk about him [Addo-Carr] wanting to move back to Sydney and he's got a deal still at Melbourne for at least another year and I reckon this is going to come to a head pretty soon.

"It's interesting last night Paul Momirovski had such a huge game for the Melbourne Storm, scored three tries and it was the first glimpse of him in a Storm jersey, he was outstanding.

"The Tigers are a club who are interested in Josh Addo-Carr. If Melbourne are going to let him got they'll want a player in return.

"I imagine Momirovski might be a bloke that might fit that build, I imagine they'll want someone else to sweeten the deal but Momirovski certainly gave himself a helping hand with that performance."
Addo-Carr joined Melbourne from the Tigers ahead of the 2017 season and has gone on to become a mainstay of the Blues and Kangaroos squads and with 65 tries in 90 NRL games has firmed as one of the game's most prolific wingers.

While a return to the Tigers has always been considered a strong possibility, with the Tigers having now let go of Corey Thompson, the Bulldogs and Rabbitohs have also been linked to the 24-year-old's signature.

BB,you had a go at me earlier about making a statement about Saab that you said it was the """most stupidest thing you have read"""...
You assumed that I didn't give the kid a break, and we wouldn't have given Koro or JAC a chance with my way of thinking...
If you read my post correctly,I said based on his game last night and if I had to play him or Jennings if he was with us I said I would pick RJ...
The young bloke was given a chance in the Dragons FG NRL side,to me he looked very unsure of himself, made basic fundamental mistakes that led to 2 tries, one was disallowed, that being he left his opposite man unmarked which happen to be Morris..
I did however say that he is young, needs more time to become an NRL quality winger...
I didn't say he was completely hopeless,I chose to use the anology that I did if he was here with us at this point in time if on his performance last night,I would have chosen RJ over him purely for his experience at this level irrespective of what people think of RJ SAAB needs more time to become familiar and comfortable in the wing position at NRL level..

Basing your opinion of a player on a single game is reckless and stupid. Everyone has poor games. Base your opinion of him v RJ based on last night and his games last year, and games against men in CC.

Head to head is a player with 60 NRL games experience more complete than a tennage rookie? Perhaps. You look at teh raw atributes and Saab is faster, taller, a better jumper. Jennings may be stronger as he's 5 years older and his body fully matured. Saab needs another 2 off seasons to reach his ideal size. Defence Jennings may be ahead at present, but he's also had 6 years of training at NRL level, Saab has barely had 12 months.

You look at the potential of each player and Jennings has reached his peak. He is what he is and won't improve much in the future. Saab could be one of the best wingers in the game for the next decade. Yes he needs experience to get there, and he may not ever reach anything near those levels, but he could. Many factors come into play here.

With no CC he doesn't have anywhere else to improve for now. If he's outside a quality centre you can minimise the risks that his inexperience offers. Choosing average players with no room for improvement over youngsters with enormous potential is a mistake we've made far too often. Sure, young stars shouldn't just be granted an nrl spot, they still have to earn it, but if application at training is equal then opt for the youngster which offers the cahnce to have an ellite player in your team.

Mbye would be a perfect move.

Thought about Mbye but doubt they’d take him, have Olam and Momo (if deal happens) for there centre pairing, Papenhyzen at fullback, Munster and Hughes in there halves and then Harry Grant and Brandon Smith at dummy half......

They need wingers or forwards

If Harry grant does get his release clause invoked , would a Liddle & momirovski for Addo Carr and Grant trade work ? Say if we threw in a Madden , as well ?

Don’t think that it’s hard to work out that JAC wants to play with his buddy LM at Souths , if we give up PM for him , how long would it be until he does a Matterson or Moses and we finish up with no one when he ultimately goes to Souths

This! Not sure Addo Carr is the way to go

JAC has been told by Storm he can go end this season,so Storm arent giving up anything in the supposed "trade"..and we'll still have to pay market price for JAC.Surely weve learnt something...?
If they really want a trade for Momo, let us keep Harry!

I cant wait until the end of the year and we just cut ties with all the oxygen thieves that are currently contracted with us. But I would be extremely happy if we got rid of Brooks. If he was a series of Underbelly, it would be called Underbelly lameness.

Storm have already poached a few good up and comers from us.

But ado Carr is the best winger in the game and wingers are very important these days

I’d fork out 500k plus

This thread is funny, last week everyone was raving about signing Saab, after 1 game he’s terrible.

The fact he wasn’t playing first grade should have been the first hint he has deficiencies in his game. However, he has size and speed which can’t be taught, just needs a good coach, the right attitude and needs to be fitter.

Hes not playing 1st grade because he has 2 better wingers in front of him,yet Saab doesnt concur
When given his opportunity,I didnt see any hunger or comittment to anything tbh regardless of his supposedly natural athletism. It was invisible, and so was he
We dont have many NRL wingers, but at this stage with this attitude hes not for me unless some turnaround is evident in future games
Mitc Moses 2.0 without the talent..so far

He wants to leave because he doesn’t like the travel, not to do with playing NRL.

Too early to write him off IMO, he’s 19, I still remember Lawrence’s defensive deficiencies at that age. I’d much rather give him the opportunity and hope he improves with a change of clubs rather than someone like Scolari who doesn’t have the physical attributes to ever be more than an average winger in today’s game.

Yes I see what you are saying but when are we going to learn with our signings? We don’t need Saab - we have Kei and even Bradley with the right attributes. Jennings is big and how is that working out for us?

Someone who signs a contract, then decides they don’t like travelling - says it all for me. I don’t care if he’s 19 - poor attitude and it showed last night - didn’t show any killer instincts at all. There is no doubt there is talent there but it’s far too early to tell.

I wish him well but for mine I don’t think we should sign him.

If I were Bellyache I'd be insisting on a quality young gun like Talau as part of any trade for Addo-Carr and that's a bridge too far in my opinion! He won't accept just anyone we might want to move on.
