I don’t understand why people think Foran would cost so much? He’s off contract and I doubt he gets many offers, and the offers he would get would not be for very much a season.

He’s gonna have no choice but to accept a much lower value contract simple as that. If some other club offers him massive money that’s their mistake

Because we are going to have to pay through the teeth to offload Reynolds.

Not if he goes to England

And if he doesn't want to go to England?

If there a decent deal for him do it if we can sign a better half in his place.

I repeat: and if he doesn't want to go? He's on cracking coin in Australia to play in Sydney. He's close to friends, family etc. He might not want to go to England to play slightly more, or whatever he's on here. English clubs would be struggling with COVID-19 also so they might not even have the coin.

If there’s no deals for him here, or Australia then what choice does the club have? He stays and you probably play him at 5/8. Shop him around as much as you can though

I'm not against him going if there's a better offer, he's happy to go and we come out of it better off overall. But it's highly unlikely, and I am reluctant to do that for another pivot that is probably spent as much time as Reynolds injured and especially while our attack appears to be better with him there.

All depends on who they replace Reynolds with if that situation does arise. Guess we will wait and see

Hopefully it's someone fit and similar/better quality, and coming cheaper.

We have to be a development club. To go to market and buy names will land the club in trouble with the salary cap because we will always pay more in competition with wealthier clubs.

More signings like Stefano and Blore who are on the cusp of the NRL will allow us to strengthen the team without breaking the bank. Twal was at a similar stage when purchased and he has been a great success.

McIntyre looks like a good find at 13.

You'd be looking for Madden Kei, Bradley and Scolari to step up to fill gaps in the roster.

Just won't work ...you need to sign a few players that can show these kids the way on field .....players with great attitude and a club first attitude

It’s crazy to think madge almost took us into the top eight last season with the squad we had.
AD,HG,LL,BJ have been huge for us.
If Blore comes good, and Stefano lives up to his hype I think we should be looking pretty good for a few years to come 🌝

In the current form JR >> Foran!

If we are after a more expensive half, Milford would be a better option!

We have a young pack going around each week so not much changes. Twal and Clark lead through their work ethic. There are limitations to the players you can buy. Also you need to keep money aside because it is a certainty the predatory clubs will view WTs as a feeder for their roster gaps.

We have to try do both, sign those guys like Twal, Stefano and Blore but we also need a marquee signing or two.

Keep signing these young guys as depth who can potentially become great first graders, use the guys you’ve developed into first grade and sign a marquee signing or two every so often. Wash, rinse, repeat. That’s how roosters and storm do it

You're right with the development club focus, but I think we'll also be much more competitive for recognised players with the new COE on the way. Can you imagine blokes turning up to Concord to do a deal? No wonder they wanted overs.

If Francis Molo is looking for a club I really think he would be a great signing. Has massive impact off the bench and has been averaging 130m a game in 38 minutes a game

The perceived cutting of squads being proposed means the "potential" players needs to be limited and your funds will be even more critical

I dont recall Storm being big on marquee signing, i think Madge is aligning us to a similar system whereby we get the most from our squad when they are still on the up just retaining a core perhaps the spine on big $ and the rest is like a revolving door with good hungry youngsters waiting on the wings

For next year if Reynolds goes, how about Mbye to 5/8 Momo to centre then see who is in the market

We have lots of five eighth options, MBye, Doueihi, Talau, Momo and that's apart from Reynolds and Benji, so yes what you propose could be how it turns out.

I'm actually pleased we have lots of options, see what works in the core, upgrade where we can.
A good strategy

Agree options are great but if we are playing Momo at 5/8 we are in a bit of trouble....

Best we look somewhere else if we want to actually make signings rather than waste our own time
