Love to talk about Welch, would love to have him, but wouldn't be too upset if we didn't. I'm a huge fan of what Madge is doing with our young forwards, definitely building a young awesome pack that will mature at the same time. I'm also a huge fan of Joshie A, he is our best forward this year and tops major stats even in his off games, he also genuinely cares for the club, here him talk about it, it comes from the heart. Also watch the team selection, each player is dicking around, he's is yelling west tigers with passion, we have our forward leader.

MG, the less said about him the better, said it before and I'll print say it again " no gets any smarter listening to him"

I love Josh's character and commitment too. I just hope he fills out a bit more because that's when he'd become the leader of a forward pack.

Was only a month ago we were salivating about our prop rotation in 2021. So why waste money on Welch when we could use it in other areas?

Fair call. I think we're one established, quality forward away from being where we need to be. Our depth is a little too young at the moment as the last two weeks have shown. We've really missed Matterson this year.

I think he's still asking himself that after Packer hit him.

Did you watch his performance last night against the Roosters, top shelf.

He is a great player. We can’t afford the contract with someone with two knee reconstructions. It’s too big of a risk for the Tigers.

You’re only at like 5 or 10 percent more chance of doing your ACL again if you did it before, so not that much of a risk.

I just think we’ve got a lot of props for next season. We need a second rower

Yeah I like Welch - great player - but we need a right edge second rower, wing and fullback way more than another prop. Prop rotation probably only area of squad that is actually up to standard.

Im not that sure we actually need a wing, unless he is a great goal kicker or JAC. Nofo is doing a good job and Talau/Asu can hold their own on the wing. I think we could do with a good better centre (could be Talua maybe). Fullback, jury is out on for mine. Doeihi does some things well, others not well enough.

I think Shawn Blore is being groomed for that right second row spot. Id rather have another prop to be honest. We need more forwards that can push us forward threw the middle. Another half and a fast outside back - preferably a winger as I think we are sorted in the centre position with the likes of Talau, BJ and the emergence of the younger ones in Kepaoa, Kei, Hoffman and Cini.

Really disappointing Garner hasn’t kicked on. Coming into the year was really excited to see him/Brooks combo on the left edge. I had him as one of our most improved this year coming into round 1. Hopefully he can finish the year on a high, and lock down that other second row spot

He was so good last year. His halves going out of form has affected his game a lot as well. He’s still a good option think he’ll be a handy bench player for us but we could really use some quality on that right side.

Hate to say it, but Matterson there would’ve made our pack so damn good if he stayed. At least we got Luciano he’s a future origin player in my eyes

What are your thoughts around Tommy moving closer to the scrum base? Would he make a good 6?

Happy for him to share the Role with Garner just hope he’ll be ready for next season. Hopefully can have a full pre season didn’t get one this year with his injury before joining us

The only suggestion I would make is that with Brooks still our 1/2 for the next 3 years we really need to find or develop a suitable 5/8 that compliments his game and works with him...Benji stifles his game,JR suits Brooks but most likely will be moved on....We would be a far better team with a stable regular 1/2s combination ...and with this the back line and team as a whole will become more stable as the seasons progress,by that I mean the back line will be on the same page and will be a better unit as will the forwards, the halves run the side and stability is the first thing you need for a good flowing team...I also think if Douhi is fullback his game will step up another level with a stable 1/2s combo...

Is that all? Meniscus injuries being recurrent are almost nailed on once you tear it once (I speak from experience.)

Yes an established forward, but also one who can lead. James Tamou would be a good pick up for us, but can’t see him leaving the Panthers now.

His biggest asset is being able to attract defenders because of his size and set up his man. His strength is also his running game, is evasive and agile. He is an average kicker and isn’t known for his long balls so playing him at 6 for his running game isn’t getting the most out of him.
