Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

After tonight's display why don't we offer Brooks, Momirovski and Talau for Grant and JAC??
Give Brooks and Talau a year under Bellamy - and it could do them wonders - and we should go and target young Brayden Trindall from Sharks.
Staggs would also be a dream to have in this team.
Also feel someone of Walmsley's build would be good - a bulldozer type with limited minutes.

Though Benji's a bit unpopular on here atm, think he deserves to be considered as a halves coach and someone like ET could be great for our defensive coaching also - he's got one of the best techniques in the game.

We need to go after the best coaches, not rookies.

I find it hard to believe that Madge is one of the toughest coaches in the NRL.
The other teams seem to rush up in defence all game, get more players into tackles then back onside, offer support when a break is made, all sprint for a kick chase, all sprint in cover defence.
They all seem much fitter than the Tigers.

Have heard some info from a super reliable source. There are some issues in tiger land. A few players often mentioned here for their less then Stella performances are sick of.madge and his hard line attitude and its coming to a head.
Very much for a reason for the drop in performance .

Buzz Rothfield?

Just a mate well placed in a different club

Right! Let me guess Matterson, Moses, Ivan take your pick of people holding grudges against us...How is someone from another club going to know what’s going on in the inner sanctums of the WTs sounds very much like sour grapes to me if true. Or maybe it’s someone from Manly,Brisbane,Canterbury, Nth Qld or St George trying to steer the spotlight away from crap going on at their own clubs - just a thought.

Lauren that would confirm what a garbage club we have become. Brooks is a fine player. He was outstanding under Cleary and if it means we need to adjust our style of play to get him back to his best, then so be it. Our forwards were smashed and we have no pace except for Brooks.

Benji is not a halves coach. Kicks on the 3rd tackles, running behind your own players, passes 3 metres behind the target. I can see a role for him in video sessions. You can play some of these "highlights" to show halves what not to do.

One of those 3rd tackle kicks got us out of trouble tonight and during the kick he was totally fatigued. I get it he's too old, slow and whatever for NRL level and the team - but he does show vision and that he's capable of reading a defensive line and making the correct pass.
I more than understand his execution problems but playing in the midst of it in comparison to mentoring would be a lot different. I'm not sure if you watched him for the kiwis last year but due to his input in those games, he had Shaun Johnson playing his best rep footy.

Absolutely amazing when breaking down a play and discussing it.

Sounds like Madge is the perfect coach for us right now, weed out the weak and fragile.

Pathetic, moaning about treatment when they treat our jersey like garbage

This.

My family wears jerseys out of choice. Some of these guys have zero pride. Mercenaries are not why we need

I agree and I'm not sure who mentioned it when I suggested Matty Johns, but we'll have limited finances for these types of resources once the the squad sizes decrease. Basically a throwaway suggestion who may possibly do it cheaper. That's all.

McIntyre deserves to be re-signed. One of the few players we have who hurts in defence and knows how to jolt a ball loose.

He missed 6 tackles - we set a low bar

None that lead to points..made 39 in 50min 2 that lead to turnovers and 2 that put the opposition over the sideline..So McIntyre gained Possession for us on 4 occasions when we didn't have the ball..

I'll take that anyday..

It would almost be criminal to let him go... Lucy one side, McIntyre and Blore the other (working on their tanks, both still young and not ready ALA Brown with us vs. Brown at slimeys)

We spend alot of time whinging about our pack, but name your favourite forward packs in the comp, and their second rowers are always studs.

Taumololo, Kikau, Cordner, Graham list goes on... Our Club, our fans, always blame our props, 8 and 10 for not blowing other packs away, but its really been our backrow letting us down. Keeping McIntyre means we only need to find a dynamic lock. McIntyre is an upgrade on Garner anyway.

I like that ET as a coach is a good idea. He gives away a few penalties but could coach technique.

Benji would be a great coach

Wamsley & stagge also a yes.

Not sure why you got down voted

Keep mac at 13 in my opinion ..gives us some mobility in that middle 3rd

Pretty sure no one said starter. He makes a great bench player. Won’t let you down.

Blore has to start. Fitness must improve though.

LL BLORE TWAL is an ok back row. Shift Twal to prop and get a top lock and we are there.

Garner is a pretender- the players that asked for him not to be dropped should be moved on

Well a few weeks back..there was a meeting with Pascoe attended by a few from here and I can tell you they increased the spend on the football dept bring in Hartigan from the Rorters and Gray from the Sharpies as well as dietitian's new physio's and sports science guys, various equipment even a barber..the spend was increased by close to 2mill on the previous 3 seasons

Hartigan Gray and Maguire all come from successful Clubs who won Premierships with their respective Clubs whilst there..

The money is going where it needs to go..yes we are all sick of waiting but often just throwing money at something doesn't fix it..
