Why is every one saying we have no cap space . We get back $ 360,000 from the nrl . Then we have Benji , McQueen , rowdy , Taylor and a couple of lower grade players of contract . I think that we would have about $1,600,000 in cap space , if any one knows any difference please correct me .

Reports from SMH were we had around a million. With Stefano joining, having to pay more for Doueihi and Joey and some other guys probably getting small increases 1 million makes sense.

Money will probably be used for a winger and fullback it seems. No good props worth spending big money on, hopefully we get someone like Bunty Afoa or Isaiah Papali’i who are solid and
Cheap.

This is the mentality the Tigers have to change or they may as well give up. Woods had to slave for years as a Lone Ranger. Until we have a big aggressive forward pack, I.e. more than just Aloiai up front, all our backs (especially Brooks) will continue to look average. The circus will roll on. If the Rorters were in this predicament that get a guy out of a bad contract at another club.

We desperately need a real elite Lock... fixes our pack up in a single move, well that and getting McIntyre and Blores gas tanks up to scratch so we can give Garner the rissole... We have forwards, we need a lock.

If Twal can get a little better with his passing he’s your man, does everything else an elite lock does.

Twal is a prop, a very good one, but he is a prop.

Jake T, Brown, Taumalol, Fischer-Harris, Murray, Asofa-Solomona.... if you cannot see what those guys bring that Twal doesnt, I dont know what to say....

I would put Twal against any prop in the world, no joke, no black orange and white glasses... guy is class. But a lock he isnt... We lose in the props, and do ourselves a disservice at lock thinking he is the answer...

Jake T is considered one of the best and Twal matches all his stats, like I said before he lacks the passing game. I don’t see why he’s not a lock he offers almost everything you want in that position.

Lacks passing...and leadership....and talking, directing, running the plays...

Twal is very one dimensional and passive IMO.

I’ve acknowledged his passing and that’s easily fixed during pre season. Madge many times has mentioned him as one of our leaders at the club, and locks don’t really direct and run plays? They’re very involved which Twal is

Its more how he runs.... 10m out from the tryline, Jake T, Taumololo, Murray etc are dynamic attacking options. Twal runs like a prop and gets held up as if its an early tackle count settling run... thats the difference.

Again not every lock is a dynamic try scorer it all depends on the makeup of your pack. To be honest the three you named have not scored that much this season. In the modern game there’s not much difference between a lock and a prop in most teams.

What Twal definitely needs to work on is passing and offloading. Lots of times it looks like he can offload but doesn’t, we need him to throw the pass more. If we can sign a better lock then move Twal into prop but he’s our best option at the moment and a good choice there

Wasnt Twal the top offloader in one of the kiddy grades? Told to stop when he came to us.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember in Twal's first game in First Grade, on his first touch, he received the ball 5 metres out from the try line, making everyone think we was going to try and barge his way over, and he passed to another player who I'm pretty sure scored.

So he certainly can pass/offload.

I think that was Huth if it is the play I'm thinking of.

Staggs on market from November. Has been told he can gauge offers from other teams. Goal kicking centre powerhouse runner of the ball. Plays right centre but reads in defence are poor at this stage. Young player with bright future would be big improvement on Mbye.

Holland to call it quits at season's end

AuthorAlicia NewtonNRL.com ReporterTimestampWed 2 Sep 2020, 01:53 PM

Bulldogs centre Kerrod Holland has announced he'll retire from the NRL at season's end and return to hometown Newcastle and look for employment.

Holland, 27, has played 69 games for the Bulldogs

One less problem for WTS when we play doggies he always had the knack of playing well against us.

Would we consider Kerrod Holland on minimum wage, 1 year salary? His goal kick percentage is 78%, or 82% since 2017. Our next closest is Momo with 75% (Mbye is 68% and AD 60%)

Aren’t we looking to become a powerhouse - forget using up valuable cap space on rejects, that portion of his salary can go toward JAC or sumilar.

Ofahengaue would be brilliant. won't be short on offers but would help our pack a heap. him and Aloiai starting and then Afoa and Stef on the bench for impact would improve us immensely.

Griffen was quoted as being very impressed by Staggs. Says he has a great knowledge of the game and defensive systems. Blamed the Broncos or more so coaching for the poor defence at this stage. In any case St George could end up with him?

So difficult to tell with broncos players. His form has been down for a season and a half but how much of that is seibold and the issues at Brisbane? Hard to know if he’ll keep that form or if a change of scenery could get him back to his best

has played for Queensland, there's no doubting his pedigree. we'll have to wait and see where he ends up.

His defence has looked rubbish at times, but has been a solid front rower.
What’s his contract status?

I'd be signing griffin as assistant coach.
We need someone who can complement Madge and I’ve heard his players love him, similar to Bennett.

Are you griffins manager ? Because the word on the street prior to him getting the sack at the riff , was that he was like a school teacher and constantly treated the players like children . There was a huge player revolt . He’s apparently a football savant though , with a great eye for the game .

No.

When is josh papalI of contract? I seen an artical saying his next contract will be about his family I take that means he’s going for big money we would be insane not to offer him big money

He would be a disgraceful signing,he is suspended more than Packer, if we are looking at adding aggression & additude Keegan Hipgrave should be our priority. We should also look at Nesta Watene from the Knights he was the most talented from Brisbane Norths colts premiership in 2018 & outplayed Fifita in the Mal Meninga Cup final.
