The worst thing Weststigers could do right now is to get rid of too many experienced players in one hit, already shaping up as losing Lawrence, Reynolds, Packer, Marshall, Taylor, Chee-kam, Jennings and Mbye. I know an injection of class players like Tamou and JAC would be excellent but I'm worried a mass cleanout has a smell about it like what's happened with the Broncos, they culled heaps of experienced players and ended up like shot ducks. I would be happy with just Tamou as Captain and if we can retain Nofa and most of our team and still manage to get JAC then woohoo. Sign Madge long term. Ggrrrrrrr

I get that , but to me the leaders weren’t the older guys . To me this year it’s been garlic sauce , Benji mbye and nofa. Outside of Benji they’re all there next year , I don’t see the leadership vacuum.

None of the players you mentioned are leaders though. Aloaia maybe in a few years but he's still not there.

I pray he hasnt signed he hasnt signed Tamou, with every fibre of my being, unless Madge see's serious leadership issues. Tamou is just a decade older, lesser tank version of Twal... Put Twal in the props.

Mikalele isnt Tapau, similar build, but not as dynamic, rotate with Twal.

Plenty of calls for McIntyre to Lock.... Grow him into the role rotating with Blore. Big boy roles dont happen at 22-24, takes time to build. Find a Lock, we have props. Big player, short term roles arent needed in the pigs, LOCK!

JAC also isnt a FB.... Madge will lose us all thinking Twal is a Lock, and JAC is a FB. Staines is the FB we need. Speed doesnt = FB. Fullback is an intelligent roll and JAC would have trouble writing his own name... Big dollars for jac would have AD, JAC.... most expensive 3/4 line in NRL history....

I think Jimmy and Fano together will give us go forward and drag in a few defenders.

If we go into next season with Mbye and Brooks as our halves we may as well throw in the towel

If we don't substantially upgrade our pack then Joey Johns and Wally Lewis couldn't get us into the semis.

Absolutely correct about Benji. He deserves credit and respect for his efforts and his love of the Club. Agreed that the rocks and diamonds metaphor is appropriate but let's not lose sight of his achievements as a Tigers legend and celebrate it appropriately.

I think a lot of us do appreciate him but also dislike the show that comes with him.

He gets dropped after the Titans game...whispers come out that he may finish the season with the Warriors. He 'hears from the media' that he won't be offered a contract for 2021 and a furious storm of media allegations come out against us. You can be great without being precious. *And* aside from '05, '10 and '11, 3 seasons out of 12 ('04 - 12, 18-20) when has the team succeded with him?

Great player but time for a new era.

When has this club succeeded outside of those 3 years? Let's get real, blaming Benji or Farah or anyone player for all the failures of the club misses a big point, except for 3 years we have always failed. Infact Benji and robbie where 2 of the best players on the planet in 2010/11 and you could argue that is what dragged us out of mediocrity. If always finishing below average is really mediocrity...I'd consider it worse...but be polite

That's not what I'm arguing. He's been the face of the club for that time and that's as far as we've gotten. It's been a great run but 2005 was a long time ago. You're a little impolite yourself slandering the club the way you have. All I want is the team to succeed and Marshall has had a long time to make that happen as the leader of the team.

Tell me, what does the guy deserve? A statue? A lifetime inclusion in our starting 13? What would be satisfactory? I have argued that guy should be considered as an immortal but most people said that was a stretch. How impolite of them.

Maguire can coach at this level and has proven it, Seibold hasn't. We have younger players but not as young as the Broncos. I think in the short-term we'll only miss Marshall.

bro Tamou is way better than Twal. He makes 150m a game and has only missed 6 tackles all season.

Twal a plodder

This is my least favourite take in the NRL ? throw Twal in Penriths team and his stats would be better than tamous are.... in fact Twal has put stats up like that plenty of times over the last two years.

Yea , but neither are the guys leaving . If what your saying is even close to true , then the power vacuum exists right now . In this case , losing older guys , who are perceived to be leaders is a good thing . Hopefully the younger guys will fill the vacuum as needed

I think what last night highlights is Dylan Brown is a lot better player than Moses.
Also I saw enough in Tamou to think he will be a very important cog in our machine if he is on board next year. Parra did not find any room up the middle last night and in one early set he made the first four tackles, and they were not third man flops

That’s generous. He’s more bog than average

The forum has been saying it for many moons
Moses is a downhill skier, pretty good goal kicker and has a huge boot also.has worked on his defence and got a lot better but he rarely takes the right option and goes hiding when the game gets tough.
I still can’t stand him.such a brat always quick to get stuck into a teammate when they mess up.i don’t think he is any better that Brooks 😤

Well we have a record of bringing back the ex's.

Moses has a massive ego and self belief, these are traits a playmaker needs and Brooks doesn’t have. In saying that I loathe him more than any other player in the comp just because he tanked and that in a team sport is the lowest act possible.

As for last night, no Dylan Brown and no regular 9, he was always going to struggle

He’s very one dimensional forward. Hard worker and plays long minutes but I was hoping that by now he would have further developed his game.
Never promotes the ball and well just solid but we need much more from him. Also he not a lock forward ever ever!

And the eels forwards got dominated so there you go the old saying your forwards make your halves.
