Sione Fainu #284

Tartak & the Tigers have a good relationship.

Storm in a teacup.

I'd imagine Sione, if signed to a T&T deal, will have some nice incentives for future years to make it worthwhile.
No chance he signs to a T&T deal, he will get some sort of deal with plenty of rival clubs who have not yet filled their top 30.

Reserve grader until this year, much like Reuben Porter, despite being younger.

Like to think he shows loyalty and patience...
We'll get a deal done when we can.

Im struggling to fit him into our best 17 at present. I really like what he's shown though and hope we keep him. Good player.

Yes ..a Former reserve grader and probably been paid accordingly … thought he showed more last year than others on the squad ..he is 24 so needs to make some money now that he is playing his best …

can he afford to take a risk that “we’ll get something sorted “ …then March rolls around and it’s …”sorry mate…we got no spots but here is a grand a week …”

Calm down mate, it’s ok, he’s not going anywhere. The final deets are being worked out to ensure he’s a Tiger just like his bros.
He has really improved having his brothers here, there is no way you let someone who has improved so much in one year leave your organisation, regardless of his bros. You find a way to keep them, reward them, and make sure they know there’s more improvement expected, and more rewards will come.
I admire your optimism....

But your plot above is that of a fairytale in the "perfect world". The evidence so far suggests Sionie will not be part of the top 30 in 2025... Unless you can share information that I am not privy to?

I'm asking questions that havent been answered.

Is he training with us? no
What is he doing? no one knows
Has he signed a contract? no
Is he and his manager upset he hasn't been given a roster spot? yes!

You don’t know those answers are true. You’re just saying stuff and believing it to be true.
Reality is he’s a reserve grader who has finally pulled his finger out bcoz his bros have turned up, and his best so far is a few bench games for the spooners with the worse roster since the Ugh Bros put a tag team together. He would have been cut last year if we hadn’t been looking to sign his bros. And that’s no fairytale.
His manager needs to pull his ahead in and be patient, tell his player to keep being his best self and he’ll be rewarded for it, or by all means test the market. If he gets an offer north of $200 it will be from someone (Gus) who needs a NRL 5/8 prospect or a good NRL srf, as in the other two bros.

Oh, and by all means panic away. 😎

Now they've reached the top grade they need. To. accept it's. Highly unlikely they will All play together throughout their careers

Good to see Sione officially confirmed as being signed to a T and T.

As a few of us suspected, that was the most likely outcome until the roster spots were to become available.

He's another good retention.

This is the 2nd good news for the day along with Pole signing for 2 more years. So far this has been one of our better off seasons. We need to keep the talent who buy into our future and remove the people who don't

Wests Tigers is pleased to announce that Sione Fainu has been upgraded to the NRL top 30 for the next two seasons.

The 23-year-old middle forward debuted in Round 11 of the 2024 season and went on to impress in his 12 appearances in the top grade.

The older brother of fellow Wests Tigers players, Samuela and Latu Fainu, Sione had completed pre-season to date whilst on a training contract and will now re-join the squad’s top 30 until the end of the 2026 season.

NRL Head Coach, Benji Marshall, says the extension is well-deserved.

“We’re thrilled that Sione has extended his stay here at Wests Tigers,” Marshall said.

“He’s a great person, a leader, and a valued member of our squad.”

Sione Fainu bursts through the line on the way to scoring his first NRL try.
