Sirro jnr is back

Playing NYC from the bench.

Anyone else think he might play NRL in the backrow for us at some stage this year? Surely he'd have more impact than Blair/Anasta/Fulton?

Yeah, they'll obviously slot him in somewhere,Potter on BSB said he'll have a run in the NYC first but i've heard they may try and give him a run in the centres, not sure if they meant the NYC or the main game when fit.If its 5/8 that means Benji back to half which must be a last resort.

Nearly forgot about jnr Sirro! He will be a good player in the years to come but I still think 5/8 is his best position so I don't know where he is going to fit in our team? His defence would have to improve a fair bit for him to be effective in the forwards IMO. Great to see him back though, good luck for the season Curtis.

Another promising junior who will add value to the club. Give him time to find his feet this year and see what develops.

How can sirro fit into 5/8 with benji and braith already proven 5/8s and mitchell moses coming up too. I'd say, he could fit in at centre or lock in the future. Less centres and 2nd rowers coming up than wingers and halves.

surely his future lies in the 13
he has the right size already and is still growing
he has the ball playing skills to be as deadly as an added ball player and runs great lines
i thought defensively he was brilliant in what we saw of him in first grade, certainly not hiding away from the big men running at him, and frequently making one on one tackles

looking forward to his future

With Fulton and Anasta already in the backrow, there's no way he can play there too, not with our current roster.

I think he may get a run in the centres eventually.

wouldnt play him in FG this year at all. let him bulk up even more and when he is over 20.. i would play him in the backrow. that's his best spot and he shouldnt be taken away from there. no centre, no 5/8.. concentrate on an edge backrower and im 100% certain he will succeed.

I'd consider him at 6 in the event of injury, otherwise he'll make a handy 13\. 6'5, 103kg, sill eligible for NYC…He'll surely be a couple of kilos heavier again next year. I'd be more inclined to move Blair from 13 to replace Anasta.

He's big enough to play in the forwards, or centre for that matter. He showed very promising form last year so you'd think he will make FG sooner rather than later. He could be anything. I am starting to salivate!

he would be a better edge backrower instead of a lock imo…his line running and footwork at the line is sublime..
in saying that, he wouldnt be bad at lock either, i just think he would be a better 11 or 12.

also, can someone explain the FULL notion of a ball playing lock to me?
i think i have an idea, but i dont see its use to our game plan at all.

Really looking forward to following his development. Hopefully he has a good season free from any further injury. At the moment, I would probably leave him in the U20s unless injury forces our hand. Like others have said, he can slot into a handful of positions, so he will likely get at least a few top grade games this year.

Backrower or Lock. He should be working on his Tackling, offloads and footwork in NYC. With his size and speed he could easily be the next next brad clyde.

Leave those kinds of comparisons to Sheens. I'm yet to figure out what the fascination with this kid is

Good luck to the young bloke I hope he is given time in the 20's to build up again and not rush him back although you never know what injury in the top grade can bring on.

i can see what you are getting at,but he started pretty well ,while not a super star it was a pretty good audition.
ticked alot of boxes.he had line breaks, try assists line break assists, made some crucial tackles, scored an early try.think the only bad game was against the dogs.
plus winning 4 of 6 while you are in the team helps with perception.

because two games including one we got done by 30 provide an accurate assessment of a players impact.
