Whilst ever I believe the team is playing for their Club, I will have confidence in finishing the season well, just not sure about playing the GF now. However this confidence is being tested when you read in today's Sun Herald once again about the clean out and Benji not being happy about this with the Coach.
What I cannot understand though is the team appeared to be 100% behind the resigning of Tim, and even allowing for injuries should have been the spur to kick on for the season but fast forward a few months later and the performances seem to highlight more a lack of team cohesion/harmony than the injury problems. Since 2005 there have been many forum posts complaining about the lack of finals appearances , so when it looks like the Club has finally looking at addressing the situation there are as many posts critical of the direction. I remember the golden rule "he who has the gold makes the rules" and if you keep on doing things the same way you will get the same results. Maybe if the injury Gods were kinder to us this may not have been an issue this year but given the issues the Storm had last year and how successful they appear this year despite their clean out I wonder if they could bottle this and sell to our Club. I probably have crossed over a few forum topics on this reply, but would love to be like a supporter of the teams in the top four that that do not have to think long and hard about their teams chances of winning each weekend, but I guess that is the joy of being a Wests Tigers supporter.

It would be interesting to know how thick the connection is between the delay in Sheens resigning and the cleanout. Is it the case that Sheens refused to resign unless he got the commitment from the Board to 'cleanout' or was it the case that Sheens didn't want the cleanout because of loyalty to the current players but in the end was convinced by the Board about the need to revamp our playing strength, or is there no connection at all, any views??

Put a very similiar question out there last night Cunno . Sheens may have been told that he would only be signed on the basis that the squad had to change . Its only a guess Cunno , but my thinking is if he wanted the squad changed earlier he would of done it far before now . Does that make sense ??

It makes sense Happy, it's anyone's guess as you have said, also if sheens wanted change he could have had it by signing with Penrith, so maybe that adds further support to the idea that Sheens wanted to maintain the staus quo at Camp Concord and accounts for a number of players contracts being extended earlier but now some of those players being given the chance to move on, it seems as though the Board probably convinced Sheens to go along with the 'cleanout' reluctantly if that's why he stalled on resigning. Would be interesting to know the politics involved.

That would be interesting and ironic if that was the case, the last bloke who tried to put KPIs on him ended up on the outer and got the chop….

I think the board loves Humphries myself Cunno and they need someone who will stand up for what is right . I totally agree in KPI's but if he meets KPI's he should be getting rewarded handsomely also .

KPIs could have been built into sheens' new contract with cash rewards built in as well for meeting them, so having quality players would definitely come into the picture there, plus the obvious motivation of winning games.

I'm confident that we'll make the 8\. To play as poorly as we have this year and still be in the 8 is an outstanding achievement.

Other teams have peaked too early. I'm confident that the Tigers will be peaking at the business end of the season!!!

Yes I am still confident, despite all the bad vibes about the team and the way the team has been playing lately and they have been playing poorly, as injured players return to the side they will improve and play a part in the Finals Series.
As for winning the comp that's down to the draw and hopefully no more serious injuries, but the old saying "while there's life there's hope.

This year, it'll be really important to finish at least 6th because I'd say it's likely that whoever ends up 1st and 2nd is going to win in the first week of the finals. If the Tigers can survive to week two, even if they lose in week one, anything can happen.

Actually less worried after tonight - I know we lost but Lawrence came back, Payten came back, Benji came back - we had about 6 tries where we normally score but tonight it just didn't stick - Marshall 90m, Mckiinon on breka and kick into post, Lui 1st break as examples

Players improved - Lui best game for the year, Lawrence back in the game, big keith awesome after Origin

Next week once the signings are over and the ball sticks which it almost did tonigh and Benji actually fit then we will kill the Cowboys and hit our run home
