Personally I don't think we're at the point where we should be going foreign, however Ange was far and away the best Australian manager and didn't pull up a lot of trees in the NT job, which makes me think we don't have an Aus option available.

The fear of a foreign manager is they will rely on the old heads to do a job, rather than develop players, as when they leave the gig they don't really care what happens. We might get by in Russia relying on Cahill for goals, but we need a better option for the Asian Cup in 2019\. I worry as well that the system that was drilled into these players will be scrapped for something different. I don't agree with the system, but surely we can't change it now ahead of a World Cup, we only have a handful of games beforehand.

As much as I love Arnie and his efforts with Sydney I don't think he'll work. He lasted six weeks in Japan and he won't have quality foreigners to pick from.

Arnold and Popovic are the only two coaches remotely in consideration from Australia imo

Another gameweek, and more surprises.
Some close games, two very tight games, and some with bigger margins; but all with intensity, some with a shred of luck and some just plain WOW!!

Blanks United and Queens Park Raisins had results with the biggest game scores, over their opponents Fibro’s and Bozo’s Ballers; Bon Vivant came out on top over her other half, Laroche Lions in a high scoring match; Beijing Town had a close 3 point win over Tranquilo; while, in the cliff-hanger results of the round, Minto FC beat Benzeman da Tiger and MANS defeated Aldinga Allstars by a solitary point.

These games are , week in, week out verging on crazy, so unpredictable are the results. And our league managers are really up there with the better results of the overall world participants, so great work everyone!
Remembering that the comp goes for 38 gameweeks in total; so heaps of ups and downs to go for all of us. Comparisons-wise, there are now all up 5,414,728 fantasy players in this comp world-wide.
Congrats therefore to everyone - just keep it up!

And now for the best part: we each get to do it all over again effective next gameweek – which this time will be tomorrow, ie Wednesday 29 November, first game being at 6.45am local Sydney time.

Just try to remember, the big thing is to try and get your team research done reasonably early, with transfers etc done before the first game of every round to get the best chance of more points.

Good Luck to everyone in your trades (or not!).

Could have been worse, could have drawn Englands group or Portugals group. Way harder IMO

Know little about the other countries, but having all three in our pool ranked above twelfth sounds about as hard as it gets to me.

I think it's a good group. France struggle to score so are susceptible to an upset, Peru struggled to break down NZ and aren't great travelers. Denmark are good but hardly brown pants stuff. I know we're poor away and not brilliant but we're live chance I'd say

I’d rate this as medium-hard group.
Then again … it’s absolutely no way I would want to see us drawing a so called easy group opponents and coming away with no wins ... or worst still 3 losses.
We need to be tested at highest level not in friendlies but when it matters.
So just get us a good tactical coach who will stick for longer term and can show ongoing improvement ... And I will be happy.
And the local admin. hierarchies need to be fixed so that the competition can grow and prosper. We as a country, which participates in this sport in such high numbers, should both deserve and expect football to be managed properly.

It's not easy, but it could have been a lot worse

France: in my book they are favourites and will win 2 of the next 3 cups. They are on the verge of a huge golden era with the young talent they have. Will top the group

Denmark: good team, but a key injury or two and they quickly become a very average side (Eriksen won the Ireland play off on his own), definitely beatable but a tough prospect.

Peru: beatable. Very beatable, struggle past NZ and playing in Russia is very different to playing in Lima.We can definitely beat these guys and hopefully are still in with a shout when we get to this game.

Well, that was a quick gameweek – came and went before we knew it……
And the league comp results were just about what could be expected (or what better be termed as the “unexpected!”)

Yes, we had the nail-biter one point winning margin, of Queens Park Raisins (Marshall Magic) over Tranquilo (dazz-96) 40-39.

And the closer result (ie 2 points in it) of MANS (swag tiger) beating Bozo’s Ballers (Bozo97) 44-42 (showing that even the bottom team in the league is only a whisker away from winning on any given gameday – and this could apply to anyone!)

Each other game was close enough but there has to be winners, and so there were with Bon Vivant (Mrs tiger_one), Laroche Lions (tiger_one), Benzeman da Tiger (WestsBenTigers) -with the round’s highest individual team score of 69 – well done!), and Minto FC (Harvey) coming home over their opponents.

These games are , week in, week out verging on crazy, so unpredictable are the results. And our league managers are really up there with the better results of the overall world participants, so great work everyone!

If you believe this article , here are two of the candidates

Muslin by a mile , Klinsmann has been a failure in the coaching ranks imo

This game week proved how close our league is with some lower placed teams getting their own back on teams standing higher on the ladder.

Bozo’s Ballers (Bozo97) still maintains 12 place, albeit after beating ladder mid-placed Laroche Lions (tiger_one), 51-36\. And Fibro’s (851) accounted for league leader Minto FC (Harvey) in the round’s closest result, 39-36\. Minto FC (Harvey) still stands top of the league but the closing pack is nudging a tad closer. Blanks United (wt00) , Tranquilo (Dazza-96), MANS (swag tiger) and Beijing Town (tba) each had wins too.

Still there was no result that has defined where this league will go, as we approach the December matches and trade period just around the corner in the new year.
