Soccer Super Thread

Hey Hal, we still have prawns left over from the poutine, so I'll make a quick prawn, capers, sun-dried tomato, and ricotta fettuccine tonight.

I'm shocked by those two results. Who would have thought both Germany and the Netherlands would be out so early...

Damn! I didn't even cook my favourite pork schnitzel with butter potatoes, red cabbage, mushroom and onion sauce recipe.
Are you a chef mate? I love your posts.

Heartbreak for the Netherlands
They're out of the 2026 World Cup, after losing to Morocco on penalties in the last 32.

2026: Eliminated on penalties
2022: Eliminated on penalties ̶

They have not lost a game inside 90 minutes at a World Cup since 2006

For the THIRD CONSECUTIVE World Cup, Japan have been knocked out in their first knockout match.

❌
2018: Lost to Belgium in the Round of 16 after conceding in the 94th minute.
❌
2022: Lost to Croatia on penalties in the Round of 16.
❌
2026: Lost to Brazil in the Round of 32 after conceding in the 96th minute.
Japan have now played in EIGHT World Cups, but they've never won a knockout match.
They're still waiting for their first-ever quarter-final.

No mate, I work as a designer and web developer. I just love food, and I do all the cooking at home. Thankfully the missus loves washing up. 🤣

The web interesting... Question

I have been pushing my grandson to do a trade and his mum wants him to do web things and work in an office

Is AI real and can it do things on the web for you if you ask it or is it just hype ?

And if AI real is there many jobs for kids in say 5 years time ?

Odessa, it absolutely is. AI, at this stage, is essentially a more sophisticated version of Google, but it's getting smarter because our posts are being trained to better understand us.

Eventually, every industry will be affected as robotics continue to advance. Manufacturing, logistics, and agriculture will be impacted first, followed by professions like medicine, law, and engineering.

The skilled trades should be relatively safe for at least the next 10 years. At this stage, a robot can't reliably fix a pipe or build a house on its own.

However, it's coming, and I'm calling it 'the quickening'.

Thanks for the great reply

Tonight's World Cup Winners Dinner is Kjøttkaker to celebrate Norway rowing through to the round of 16.

Kjøttkaker is a quick and easy meatball dish in a beef and pepper gravy. Traditionally it's served with potatoes, mushy peas and lingonberry jam, but you can add any veg you like and swap the lingonberry for cranberry or even raspberry jam.

Nydelig!
