The last few seconds were bizarre. Kaufusi was sin binned at 79:38 but the clock didn't stop till 79:47 and even the blatant pushing down wasn't punished on Tedesco. Have no doubt in my mind that it should've been another sin bin with Blues having an extra play.

In saying that though, bravo to Bennett. He honestly never fails. I can only think of the England job that he failed at recently (since they couldn't even beat NZ) but he's just a freak. Would love to be a fly on the wall for his player conversations.

Not very professional from Nofa. Needs to be smarter than that, tweeting stuff like that will not get you in freddys good books.

Not saying he’s wrong for doing it tho 😂 just probably not in his best interests

Probably about the Blues losing.

Cannot understand NSW as favourits in Origin, and QLD inexperienced.Evans and Munster incumbent Aust halves,Papali best frontrower,Friend,Aust hooker,Origin, and dual premiership winner, likewise Gagai. NSW has 2 centres that are not centres,a 7 that hardly runs the ball ,a 5/8 who has never represented and a Penrith riddled coaching staff that only have dubius skills .Tedesco saved our bacon last year and the seriously depleted qld side nearly beat us.

I blew up at the end too, I don't think we would have scored as the Blues seemed to have no clue at all.................pass out to JAC's wing and hope for the best was all we had.

‘Totally lost it’: Cronk roasts ref blunder on final play as Kent calls for Sutton to be axed
New South Wales
Mark St John

Cooper Cronk believes the Blues were robbed of one last chance to square the scores in Origin I as Paul Kent called for referee Gerard Sutton to be dropped for the rest of the series.

In a crazy final minute with the Blues trailing 18-14 the Maroons tried to slow down the ball, which resulted in Felise Kaufusi being sin-binned and Queensland laying on James Tedesco in what turned out to be the final tackle of the game.

However the Blues appeared to clear the ball before the clock expired and Cronk believes Sutton got the crucial final call wrong.

“Just that controversial little finish there towards the end,” Cronk said.

“Kaufusi that was the right call he had to go off. But with a couple of seconds to go there was about five Queensland Maroons basically giving away the penalty waiting for the clock to run down.

“Gerard Sutton should have blown a penalty and given NSW maybe two seconds to set up for one play because that was an infringement that needed to be pulled up.”

Paul Kent went further by suggesting that Sutton should be axed for the remainder of the series after losing control of the final moments of the Origin opener.

“Gerard Sutton needs to lose the game for the next game,” Kent said.

“He shouldn’t control Origin again after that. He totally lost it there.

“Kaufusi was just belligerent and refused to go off the field and pretended he didn’t know what was going on. Sutton should have got him off.

“And then in the last minute NSW actually passed the ball with time on the clock from dummyhalf. Then the siren rang with the ball in play and he whistled full-time.

“It doesn’t make sense.”

Yah that was really bizarre. Even with them slowing that last tackle down intentionally he played it in time.

In all my years of watching rugby league I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen. If the ball is played before the 80th minute it is in motion and It has always been play on. In fact the refs usually keep the play going to the nth degree, much to my chagrin at times, especially when the attacking team is versus us!

How many games has Cleary played in origin? No tries no try assists no line break assists. All he does is kick goals
And tackle

Lol funny what hate makes you see.

Cleary is one of, if not THE, best half back in the game at the moment.

Not sure what people expect, but all players have average games in them. Apart from Cam Smith, but he's just a freak.

I agree that Cleary is the best half in thae game ATM. I also think he hasnt played a good SOO or GF yet. He clearly has issues in big games.

AJ Brimson out the rest of the series as well. QLD down to their third choice fullback, either Holmes or Allan

I hope he was watching JAC's defence on the right. An NRL player should be able to play more than one position but last night he played soundly.

Newcastle supporters might beg to differ.

Nofa was right... How Tupou even got a run baffles the mind! Was one of the most average games of origin I have seen. However, a great performance from Queensland team as you would expect. (NSW supporter)
Freddy has lost it, picking gutherson and wighton in the centres... What a goose!

If TikTok Cleary is the best NSW have QLD, will win 3-0.

100% correct about the blunder not picking some specialist centres and also picking Keary who has been in terrible form for weeks, not to mention that the chin offered nothing. Queensland also got lucky when Brenko Lee got ruled out because Capewell killed us.
On the plus side It was pretty good seeing Fittler suffering.

I'm sure there's stats to counter my argument but Haas is just another T-Rex IMO.
Big marshmallow

He’s not an impact forward, he’s one of the best work horses around though. That’s why he should start, he’ll get through a heap of work then someone like Paulo can come on and do damage. Kids got a crazy motor for being 120 odd kilos.

Tupou had a shocker in 2015 as well which is one of the reasons he didn't get picked again until now

I don't have a problem with it. Media commentators dish it out all the time - it's their job.

I'm happy to see players give it back to them, however subtly.

Besides, Nofo knows he will never be in Fittler's good books, Why not give him a little dig for poor team selection and a losing coaching performance. I'm all for it.
