'Terrible look': South Sydney's Latrell Mitchell in hot water as Tigers coach Michael Maguire fumes
By Marc Churches.

Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has urged the NRL to consider more bunker intervention after South Sydney fullback Latrell Mitchell appeared to get away on two missed calls during the Tigers' 18-14 loss to the Rabbitohs.

Mitchell, who had already been placed on report for a late shot on David Nofoaluma earlier in the match, avoided conceding a penalty after he appeared to strike Tigers second-rower Luke Garner with his leg.

With the Rabbitohs trailing by eight points midway through the second half, Mitchell produced an incredible individual moment by making it out of the in-goal before racing down the sideline as the Tigers looked to continue applying pressure.

The Rabbitohs received a penalty shortly after Mitchell's moment of madness, which wasn't to the liking of Maguire, who was left upset that his side didn't get the ball back when it appeared Mitchell attempted to kick Garner, while also making contact on the line during his in-goal effort.

The Tigers coach said it was a "massive" momentum changer as he called on the NRL to look at more ways the bunker can intervene.

"You look at moments in the game where the ball comes down there in the corner and I'm sure there was a foot that touched the white line and the technology in the game, I think 'Garns' ended up copping a boot there at one stage, technology in the game can refer to that," Maguire told reporters after the match.

"We end up down the other end and we get a penalty against us.

Makes some good points. I definitely think they should have gone back to the kick in the face.

Just because it didn't connect clean doesn't mean the intent wasn't there.

Exactly. And Garner dodged it. If he just stands there and takes the boot to the face then it's a sin bin. But what player wants to get kicked in the face.

Connection or not is irrelevant. If a player goes around throwing punches but doesn't connect, doesn't mean it's fine.

The officiators cost us the game for their inactions
If Latrell gets 3 to 4 weeks now then he should have been sent off during the game
Souths get the 2 points
We get nothing again
And the next 3 or 4 teams souths play get all the advantages

Yeah that seems fair Nrl officials
Thankyou and well done
This is one of the main reasons people don't go to games any more
Us supporters want a fair go
Fix the bull---- and the crowds will come back

I watch nrl on channel 9 and listen to the ABC
if you want us supporters to spend our hard earned $ by buying a subscription then fix the bloody game you drongo's
Or I will continue to keep my money

Glad Madge is openly questioning the integrity of certain rules and officiators of the game (in a smart way). Its about time thugs like Latrell and his protectors are exposed.

This guy is an a-grade child. Was absolutely rattled and I shudder to think how he’d hold his own during real crunch time

Soft crybaby mentality of a bullied bully; he’ll still be having nightmares about us

Bet he’s useless on ’Magic’ round

No, it's pretty clear. Favourite teams, and favourite players.

Apparently Souffs are going to fight the charge and to seek a downgrade and just cop a fine .

Yeah, I think they'll look at charging Nofo as, after looking at the replays, he's definitely trying to headbutt Mitchell's elbow.
