Spoon 2025

With the right attitude, and a couple of home games there is still "potential" for us to win a couple - starting this weekend with The Rabbits less Mitchell and Murray backing up. Warriors are always a mixed bag but at home will be hard to beat - about time we made up for that horrific cll that robbed us over there though a season or so ago. Cowgirls not likely but the knights at home - I think we can get it done there. I much prefer our chances v Parras. I would prefer not to be playing for the spoon in the last round; but I am a realist. There is every possibility that is what it will come down to.
We have a terrible record playing for anything in the last round.

Oh no...out of all of this, probably the saddest! What happened? ;-)

Indeed it is. Her Grand Father was a born and bred Balmain Tiger as am I.

Not for want of trying.

Miss almost 3, July 19, 2009. First visit to The Eighth Wonder of The World.

Wests Tigers 34 NQ Cowboys 14

1. 17 year old daughters being 17 year old daughters
2. The Gummies are our local team, so peer pressure
3. The Wests Tigers haven't exactly given her a reason to follow them.

We started off the year better in defence than last year. Ever since the cowboys and dragons game our defence opened up which was around round 12. First 10 or so rounds we were ok. I think robbie farah is leaving at the end of the year and thankfully so. We need less of the old boys and someone who has good coaching experience. Bulldogs turnaround is due to a few things. Culture change and identity building, signings, and patience. Like them, we have to rebuild, but ours will take a lot longer if Richo doesn't make any other signings for 2025 in the positions we need
The idea that we were defending better this year than last early on is a myth. Yes, We were defending better at the start of this year than the end of last year. But that was due to the back end of last year exposing poor depth. When you compare the start of this year with the start of last year, before depth was tested, they are pretty much identical.

Ivan wasn't that bad as a coach other than recruitment. Madge had a terrible roster and was always going to be in a bottom 3 finish. Benji's side this year is a lot stronger barring injuries
If Madge goes on to win Origin.. you are looking at a resume of NRL premiership, super league premiership, handing Kangaroos their worst ever defeat and possibly winning decider at Suncorp.

But he's always going to have the dark mark of coaching Tigers...

Absolutely and we did discuss that after round 8 or thereabouts.
Somehow, our defence is worse despite efforts to strengthen it.

Shows that no matter what coach, ceo, player we get it will always be the losing culture of the club which is the issue. How to turn that around... no idea

It starts with little steps. Turning the Wests Tigers around is just like eating an elephant. You have to take it one bite at a time. We have sacked the numpties, we have appointed a proven administrator, we have decided on the development path, we have a vision. Turning the shit fight just isn't going to happen overnight; no matter how hard we wish it will.

Is Benji and the coaching staff to blame? With such a poor roster how can you tell? Is Des doing much better with a significantly better roster? What about the Parra roster with a significanly more experienced coaching staff? Will changing our coaching staff make any difference if we don't upgrade the cattle?

It is easy to put the onus on the club, and much of it is rightly deserved. I'm sure the coaching staff can take a bit of the heat too; however, the blame lies with the players. The playera have shown on occasions that they have the ability to win - what is lacking is the ability to do it consistently. Consistency is about attitude - and you don't have to dig too deep to see that the attitude of our playing group, at times, sucks big doggy doo doo!

Richo's greatest trick will b convincing those kids 2 stick around for each other.think we give ourselves an uppercut for not signing Des or Shame the shame Flannagan

I agree regarding Richo and the Kids - I can't say I am close enough to comment on the coaching side of the house. We see glimpses of things going right and then dives back into the depths of terrible. But we know that was going to happen given the inexperience of the playing group.

Des in a similar position with the Dogs stuffed the cap trying to get instant success; does that smell and feels like Ivan Cleary? I don't see him producing miracles with the Titans with a significanly better roster so I think we dodged a bullet there. Flanno on the other hand has done wonders - is it because he is an outsider to told the "old guard" to F off, or is it because he players have responded to his coaching?

My view is that we have decised on a path and developed a plan - for the first time in [This word has been automatically removed] knows how long it is time to stick to our guns and go though with it. For sure we need to buy in some quality outside backs and a starch forward in the short term. But...... we have chosen our future as our juniors so we need to focus on developing our Wests and Tigers kids.

I expect
my team died when we merged, such incompetence,2 decades is hard 2 wrap the brain around at times.pre 2010 was smarts, how we can constantly stuff it up when it seems more upfront n a level playing field than ever, wow,

you talk smart footy, aint going 2 piddle in your pocket, fess up.lol

When we merged I stopped supporting the NRL for several years; I was just pissed off. I really had no interest in the game despite still playing park footy myself. I am not sure what got me back into supporting Wests Tigers but I'm a rusted on supporter now and really want so see success. I wish I was close enough to the club to have some insight but I just apply my limited knowledge to what what I see. I realy don't know if it is coaching or roster or both - but I can't imagne for the life of me that we are coaching our team to dish up shit.
