I reckon star wars is gay

Don't you watch grown men in undies cuddle in an octagon?

It's called combat sport, nerd.
Stick to your comic books and sci fi movies ?

I caught the movie last Thurs so I've had a bit of time to reflect. Overall, I thought it was good without being great......what a missed opportunity though!
JJ had great ideas on where to take the characters and the story, however he didn't quite execute it. It was filled with lazy writing (the final battle scene/General Hux's scenes) and poorly edited (the opening 10 mins could have been a whole other movie!) If they had taken the same approach Marvel did with the Avengers and split the final episode over two parts, they could have expanded on the characters a lot more which would have made it a much better conclusion.
Overall, this is how I rate the entire saga
Episode V - ESS (10/10)
Episode IV - ANH (9.5/10)
Rogue One (9/10)
Episode VI - ROTJ (8.5/10)
Episode VII - TFA (7.5/10)
Episode VIII - TLJ (7.5/10)
Episode IX - TROS (7/10)
Episode I - TPM (6.5/10)
Solo (6/10)
Episode III - ROTS (6/10)
Episode II - AOTC (3/10)

Solo was fun! But outside of the Original Trilogy, The Mandalorian IS Star Wars.

Took a bit to get going i thought but the couple of episodes were great.

That’s what TLJ was supposed to do but it is the worst movie in the history of Star Wars and Disney has know one to blame but themselves for not writing the trilogy as one story. They let each director write their own story and Rian Johnson blew it. TFA was bad but TLJ could have built on it but no. TROS was good but far from brilliant.

For me,
5,4,R1,3,6,9,1,Solo,7,2,8

I'm really liking the Mandalorian but it could be better. It started off amazingly then Episodes 4 and 5 killed the momentum. It has bounced back over the last couple of episodes, Epsiode 7 has been the best one yet.
The show is produced differently to shows made specifically for streaming providers, I.e. a new episode drops each week. My greatest gripe with the series is it attempts to wrap up a complex story in 30 mins. Why not leave it a bit more open so the audience has to hang on for the next episode? If they dropped the 'filler' episodes and lengthened the other episodes - it would be Disney's best Star Wars production yet.

Agree with this the escape episode with baby yoda and the Mandalorian battle was like yeah lets go baby followed by pushing a pram through a forest was blah...

Last ep back on track I hope...smart move to release it before ROS ..given it was the 1st time we have seen the force power of healing exercised by baby yoda...

I didn't mind the TLJ, it's not my favourite but it is not as bad as many make out. Others just like you complain episodes 7-9 don't tie in, however when you think about it, TESB is such a departure from ANH, and Return of the Jedi is nothing like ANH.
The problem is, Disney listened to the fans too much. After TFA, people complained it was too familiar and predictable, that it was ANH rehashed, there weren't enough strong female leads..........TLJ turns everything on it's head by addressing a lot of TFA's criticisms, but guess what......people hated it! They wanted familiarity, they weren't happy with how the male characters were portrayed in comparison to female characters, they also felt some characters were disrespected, especially Luke (who Star Wars is not centered on BTW). So guess what they do in TROS?
IMO, JJ and Disney have themselves to blame for not taking more of a chance in TFA and playing it safe again in TROS.

I was worried that an actor that wasn't Ford would butcher Solo but he did a good job. I reckon there was a star wars overkill when released.

One thing on my bucket list is to take the kids to the Drive In Movies

Something all kids should experience in my opinion

We take ours a bit, a fair bit cheaper than the movies too and take your own food.

What ...you DON'T hit the snack bar between movies

HERETIC

Nope, I don’t hate it because of those reasons. The story is so bad that’s why I dislike it. I don’t give a rats bum about strong female leads and all that other garbage I want a cohesive story over three movies that sticks with basics of the Star Wars universe, not the story line but just the ground rules that we have already been given. RJ broke them and so did JJ to a lesser extent but with a good follow up to what he did people would have come to love TFA. I agree they could have told a better story in TFA but they didn’t but the next movie should have continued down the same story line not the garbage we got.
The nine movies are also the Skywalker Saga, Anakin, Luke and who? Anakin falls and Luke redeems then what? We got you know who, which I wont spoil for others.

10 Phantom
11 Last Jedi

I think force of awakens was good then last of the Jedi had some good moments and cringe moments and messed the story up, final one dlwas q desperate attempt to recover some story but it felt like a standalone movie, not a trilogy finale. I was bored for most of it. No emotional connection
Ah well. Glad it's over. Trilogy was like 3 solo movies, not a cohesive trilogy.

It's easy to blame Rian Johnson. It was unfixable to write a 3rd movie after Last Jedi broke everything FA started. But it's the producers fault, JJ I guess? They should have sat down and had a basic vision for the trilogy from the start. Imagine if Lord Of The Rings wasn't a book, it was an original story, and each one was written fresh without a plan and they could do anything lol.

Don't see what all the drama is. When going into the cinema to see one of these films it is always going to be a fanciful plot with a booming soundtrack enhancing great visual effects at it's core. Enjoy each episode for what it is.

Rise of Skywalker did the best it could after Johnson trashed every single plot point he could. He pretty much left Abrams at a dead end. Disney have fired multiple directors of Star Wars films for far less. I don't know how The Last Jedi was allowed to proceed the way it did.

ROS felt a little rushed, like it was it's own trilogy and had to fit everything in.

My main issue with the sequel trilogy is the lack of respect shown to both Mark Hamill and Luke Skywalker.
