Swap AJ for Talau and that bench is A- I feel the rotation of the 14 jumper will be the key pending on whom we are playing.
Steffeno pending on Packer / injuries
Blore rotate with Gardner and lock
Talau will get his chance, spend a little time in the middle
Reynolds marking time
Mybe ideal 14 pending D Laurie
Simpkins cameo's throughout, more prominent at seasons end or ladder position 2022 will be his year

Packer, I like, hopefully, Tamau gets him to pull his finger out!

I think Momo might get first crack on wing perhaps, meaning Kepaoa out.

What is everyone’s starting team next year? This is mine

1.Mbye (only cause no one else)
2.nofo
3.jimmy the jet
4.bj
5.kepaoa
6.doueihi
7.brooks (would rather have a cardboard cut out but we won’t drop him)
8.joe ofhengue (if he signs)
9.liddle
10.tamou
11.Blore
12.Lucy
13.twal
14.Simpkins (if he is looking good in training otherwise I would play Walters)
15.mikeale
16.utoikamanu
17.garner/ chee kam

Walters will be out for at least first 1/4 of season maybe longer with his torn ACL.

Do Forum Members still think Maquire would still use Reynolds and/or Packer if they warranted selection in pre season training. I know both have had injury issues.

Most Forum's benches look rather inexperienced in my opinion. Is Stefano who has had limited NRL experience better than an uninjured Packer for instsance?

I am sure he would. Packer at his best is quite confronting and would suit Madge style of play.

The issue with Packer is no consistency. He'll come out one week and look fantastic and everyone will be singing his praises. Then for the subsequent few games he runs about 20m a game and doesn't get involved. I'd rather give a go to someone who has a dig.

So would I, but he is taking up a lot of our cap and LTF asked if he warranted selection. I cant see Madge ignoring him if he warrants selection.

Agree. Except that the cap situation shouldn't come into it. That's a sunk cost. Best person for the job, gets the job.

bumped into him on Norton Street last week. I said hello and he said hello. He doesnt seem huge in person. I didn't really want to bother him so that was it. But he seems like he is in good spirits.

If Packer does well enough he’ll get a spot in first grade. Just don’t see him playing well enough to be there consistently maybe a game here or there depending on injuries. His work rate just isn’t good enough

Contract year isn’t it for him? Not that I’d resign him, but he might actually give it a crack this year because of that. I recall him playing out of his skin for the Saints when he was off contract, then fittingly dogged it once he got the deal with us.

Unless he ends up retiring...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Packer and Reynolds both retire. Very hard to imagine either of them getting offered a contract.

Yep same here

Either that or some super league club will offer them stupid money. And they may aswell take it. Footy players have short careers...why not make the most of it
