Stay safe all Queensland residents

Sounds like the iconic Strand Hotel at Yeppoon lost part of its roof Unofficial though

Is it just me , but should Brisbane be concerned that Wivenhoe Dam is at 77 % with all the rain they are getting with the low and then the remnants of the cyclone heading that way also

Last thing we need is a repeat of 2010 / 2011 floods

I heard on the radio that the yeppoon SLS club roof ended up in the police station yard. That 's a block away, maybe 300m's

I hope everyone on the coast made it ok

CQ turns out the average wind speed was 150kph in Rocky and you guys got a gust a 205kph

It seems now to be leaning west again , bit further away from us than last report

Glad you have gotten through ok with minimal damage

Rumour has it that it was Matt Parish who kicked your letter box over lol

Cqtiger , get a 6 pack from the fridge in your Garage, Laptop on your Lap playing the 2005 Grand Final  .

Look at the bright side you haven't got young ones in your ear

Um FT i'm drinking CCs
We have activated our emergency plan and are now downstairs playing Uno.

I can't load photos from my iphone but I just lost my garden shed. It basically just blew out.

In the 80s we lived near Yeppoon and a cyclone passed up north of shoalwater bay. But nothing like this - the wind is extreme and it's not peaked yet.

All safe though

Just ignore my stupidity CQ .
It would be never ending waiting for time to pass with no power , but my comment is not funny at all .

Stay safe mate .

Typical you know who supporter , forever putting both feet in their mouths (unlike me of course  😱pen_mouth:  )

It has been pissing down rain all day here on the Northside of Brisbane. Torrential all day long non stop. I'd be very surprised if we don't get a [This word has been automatically removed] of a flood out of this.

The weather is doing some serious damage and we are all worried about our families, friends etc but i must say, reading the posts on here puts a smile to my face and chases the fear away. Thanks guys. Keep it up

Looks like I successfully scared off the cyclone

We've had a few 80 kph wind gusts and so far less than 100 ml of rain and it is basically past us

Yet we had a cyclone (Beni ) back in 2003 where we got close to 900 ml of rain in 4 days and it didn't get past Mackay which is 6 hours drive away

Good to hear mate.

Still no power here but still raining and gusty winds (not cyclonic)

I think it will be quite a while before power is restored. Power lines down everywhere. Trees blocking roads everywhere. A mate has been out checking on family and he uses the word "chaos"

Still all safe here - a good result.
Now WT's cheer me up by flogging those sharkies tomorrow

We checked the Ergon site

They won't be doing any work here in Gladstone until tomorrow for obvious reasons

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes , info ,good advice and street directions around Rocky

Start of the day it looked like it would a nightmare for many but we seem to have got through reasonably intact

Again , thanks all

I know things were a bit devestating for some of you beautiful people in Qld,but the good news we got way down south here in southern highlands of NSW was that NOBODY got hurt or killed, that is the best news ever…be strong the the threat will pass and you guys will be so much stronger helping each other......God bless and hopefully he holds you in the palm of his hand.....

They have downgraded it to a Cat1 now and expect it to become a Low by 2am as it heads for Brisbane/Sunshine Coast…

We should get alot of rain, but not much wind tomorrow.
