He’ll never re sign for that long. Our best option is to add an additional 2 year deal at the conclusion off his current deal (end of 2023) but we should also give him a pay rise for 2022 and 2023. Bump him to 400 for this season and maybe 450 for 2023. 2024 -2025 offer him anywhere from 6-700 for those 2 and if the club around him hasn’t improved than who are we to try get him to stay. No one serious about a rugby league career right now will sign a long term deal with us so if he leaves in 2026, he’ll only be 25 and won’t feel like he’s wasted his career

have a look at the list...could still be a flash in the pan....back it up early next season as well. There is a thread on this forum saying Blake Ayshford and Chris Lawrence should be the NSW centre combo. He has only had 10 good weeks in all honesty

Well deserving of both a contract extension + wouldn't object to a pay rise for 22/23 - shows the other players if you put in the effort, you will get rewarded.

Well deserved but doesn't make sense. Isn't Laurie still eligible as he only played 3 games for Panthers previously and you are eligible until you play 5 games.

If Laurie is player of the year, wouldn't he by default be rookie of the year?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but if I'm not.. the club really treats fans as mugs. How can you expect to build a tradition or prestige when you change jerseys, homegrounds and rules to suit whatever is in-season?

Stefano might end up the best front rower in the game with a bit more experience. That said, it's going to be hard hanging onto the big bloke with pressure from clubs like the Roosters and with the new Queensland team to enter the competition in 2023 cashed up and looking for players but we have to at least try and tie him up for as long as we can, while we can. Problem's going to be, and not just for WT, most agents would likely be telling their clients, including Stefano, not to commit to any long term deals until the impact of the new club on salaries can be factored into any negotiations.

These are Club awards..there are no criteria regarding Rookie of the Year Games etc..

These are Club awards..there are no criteria regarding Rookie of the Year Games etc..

So they just leave it for interpretation and give out awards to whoever they want?
