The question poses…... would he quit if he had nothing to go to?

Quite a few coaches returning from ESL this year Chris.

Maybe Sticky is heading abroad?

You hope….

I hope.....

Looks like we all hope......

Sticky would be the best thing to happen to the tigers in years, finally we would have some sort of discipline, when benji plays uninterested sticky would get up him, sheens just gives him hugs and kisses

Ricky Stuart to quit Sharks

Ricky Stuart is to quit Cronulla at the end of the season. The Sharks coach will front a press conference in the Shire at midday to formally announce his resignation.
>
Stuart's contract at Cronulla runs until the end of 2011 but it is understood he has decided not to see out the final year at the battling club.
>
It is expected the club will anoint assistant Shane Flanagan as his replacement next year.
>
There has been much speculation about Stuart's future at the Sharks, with the former Australian and NSW coach facing no shortage of rumours surrounding his tenure at Toyota Stadium.
>
It is yet to be confirmed what his next move will be but it has been suggested he may have an offer to join the Melbourne Rebels rugby franchise as a coaching coordinator alongside head coach Rod MacQueen.
>
Stuart joined the Sharks in 2007, following five seasons in charge at the Sydney Roosters in which he oversaw a premiership. He steered Cronulla to the preliminary final in 2008 after a season in which the Sharks finished equal top of the competition ladder.
>
His time at the club has been less memorable since then. The Sharks won only five games last year and continued their struggle at the start of the 2010 campaign, although they produced their best performance of the year on Saturday night with a defeat of the Eels at Parramatta Stadium.
>
Stuart has also had to cope with a string of off-field indiscretions by Cronulla players during the past three years, with key team members Greg Bird, Reni Maitua and Brett Seymour all shown the door.

I prefer to believe SMH. Slightly more credible than telecrap.

_Get your mates to join this page, write on the wall and let everyone know he is THE ONLY coach we want._

Not sure why we would boot our Coach who doesn't get us to the finals only to replace him with the guy coaching the team coming dead last.

No way in the world do I wan't Sheens here next year,I will never join that group,I don't think much of Stuart, but I would be willing to give him a shot over another season of Sheens failure.

I don't really like Stuart because of his ego and his whinging, however some people are carrying on like he has never won a game of footy. One thing about Stuart coached teams is that they play a pretty tough, uncomprimising brand of footy. The Tigers have lacked aggression for years. Stuart would be handed the keys to Marshall, Farah, Tuqiri, Lawrence and co, a much more talented list then he had at the Sharks.

His record stacks up with most coaches over the past decade. Won NSW last series, even managed to take an average Cronulla to a Prelim Final. Had a couple of lean seasons however so has every coach.

Would not be my first choice, but would not be dissapointed. As for people threatening to throw in their memberships if he replaced uncle tim, please…...

Wow, Sticky for Collis & Morris… Not sure who wins out there :S

Like I said earlier, Sticky will probably sack our most valuable players and replace them with reserve graders.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire IMO...

I tend to agree with this. However, his record at keeping sides together is abysmal. As I have said before, I judge a coach on how they leave a side in contrast to when they arrived. On this score, Stuart is an abject failure. His decision to quit instead of rebuilding the Sharks is a testament to his character as a coach.

I loved Sticky as a player but as a coach I will pass.

Golden, you never cease to amaze me. I think I liked you better when you just appeared on game day when we're losing.

umm Fact Stuart has achieved more with the roostesr and sharks the last 8 years then Sheens has with the tigers the last 7 years

Have you compared the teams Golden? Just remember, Stuart was handed a team of superstars at the Roosters and a very decent Sharks team.

Rumblings about Nathan Brown might not be so true, but there is plenty of dialogue in the UK linking Brownie to the Sharks. I also read somewhere Kurt Wrigley is another option?

I wouldnt want to be a Sharks Supporter this week. Talking to a few, they are pretty much behind Stuart and happy for him to stay. I'd say Stuart has walked and not been pushed!!!

If he goes anywhere it will be to union and the Melbourne Rebels. He has a habit of destroying clubs he is at and i don't want him anywhere near the Tigers

Dont we have so called superstars too?? wasnt eveybody saying top 4 for this year?

People seem to be critical of the way Sticky left the Roosters and Sharks. If he was performing and the team were going well, then wouldn't that increase player values and force players to leave due to salary cap constraints? That could only support the fact that he has been successful.

People on this site whinge about our halves - well Sticky has been trying to get a team to win without one since Kimmorley left. I don't think you can expect too much off him with the talent he has.

And Cultured Bogan, all I read on here is criticism of Sheens for not giving the likes of Davis, Pritchard and those guys a go! If Sticky brings through reserve graders and gives them a shot then isn't that what everbody wants.

I don't like Sticky much, think he always looks like a grub. Sticky, if you get the job then wear a nice WT polo and some suit pants! Personally I think there are better options.

I think you missed my point. He won't give our reserve graders a go, he'll sign them from Manly, Roosters, Gymea Gorillas C-grade side etc…

I think you'll also find that Kimmorley was pushed out... By none other than one Richard Stuart.
