A couple of shows I've been looking forward to premiered this evening:

The Stand (Amazon Prime)
WandaVision (Disney+)

How was WandaVision?

Keen to know also - previews look confusing to say the least.

It's different, that's for sure. It is in the style of the classic US suburban sitcom shows from the 50's/60's. E.g. I love Lucy, Bewitched, I dream of Jeannie, etc. Other than a couple of subtle references to Stark industries and Hydra, you wouldn't make the connection to Marvel.
A bit of a slow burner, they're taking the weekly episode approach like The Mandalorian however I feel it's a show you need to binge all at once.
It's a novelty show I can only see working well for a season, two at the absolute most.

Watched Death to 2020 last night ...that was quite funny

Taking the piss out of Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon ,Covid , BLM ,Brexit ,Our Bushfires,Boris Johnson etc

Hugh Grant , Samuel L Jackson , The blonde from Friends , a couple of SNL regulars .....pissed myself laughing a few times

Not on Netflix but the series ‘Dark Side of the Ring’ by viceland is awesome.
Even if your not into Wrestling the Episodes are crazy.

Have seen the first 2 seasons, I don't think the 3rd has arrived yet. Some truly tragic stories amonst that lot.

Next year I hear.
The Owen Hart one was particularly sad I thought.

Couldn't think of a more miserable industry, other than the fact that I lost interest in it, I didn't like what the companies (primarily the WWE,) did to their talent.

Juice up for them, end up with CTE and crippling injuries, get tossed aside like you were nothing, develop substance abuse problems, let yourself go and wind up dying of heart failure due to the gear, obesity and self medication.

You hit the nail on the head.
Former wrestlers looks worse than any other profession. There was a wrestler called DDP he was pretty big in WCW back in the 90’s he has like a yoga/slash rehab facility, and try’s to help them get clean and regain some sort of mobility.

He lives in San Diego I'm pretty sure (either that or he visits very frequently,) my sister lives there and sees him around a fair bit.

I’d be star struck haha
Saw Mankind (mick foley) last time I was in the States.my inner 10 year couldn’t help but go ask him for a photo

I met Stacy Keibler and Mark Henry about 20 years ago at Moore Park. Shaking hands with Henry was like shaking hands with a bear and the table Stacy was sitting at mysteriously rose when she said hello to me.

Someone mentioned the Australian movie Broke

All about a down on his luck ex North Sydney Bear player and his post footy problems

I decided to watch it ...and I'm thinking to myself ...bloody hell that looks like Auckland Creek and then that looks like the railway crossing where I turn off to take my daughter to netball

Filmed almost entirely in Gladstone ....bar the racetrack which is Rockhampton lol

It's different. Not at all what I expected from a comic book / superhero show. I guess it's a little confusing - but more so because they allude to something happening but are only revealing it slowly, so maybe intriguing / mysterious more than confusing.

LOL nah mate ...funnily enough when they show the picture on the girls wall it is Mark Graham ...ex NZ International superstar ...who again probably spent close to 10 years in Gladstone working at QAL and coaching a local side .....played around 9 holes with him one day at Gladstone Golf Club when I saw him playing alone a hole ahead I caught up and he was happy enough for someone to tag along and play golf with .....

I brought up an infamous BRL incident in a semi final when he hit Wally Lewis with a raised elbow and Lewis had a laryngeal spasm and was literally rolling around on the ground choking ......

Really nice bloke .....we talked about 1980 GF in Brisbane when they pulled off the shock GF win against the Bennett coached Souths ...Smoking Joe Kilroy was amazing that day

Anyhoo getting off track ...not a bad movie

Mark Graham’s son Luke is in the film industry and was the producer on this one. Definitely based on Mark Graham’s story.

Funnily enough I mentioned Mark Graham to someone the other day and he is still living in Gladstone not working for QAL ....someone had told me that he'd moved away and had major back surgery

Anyone who likes Vikings, The Last Kingdom, that kind of show - check out a show called Britannia. It's just been added to Stan.

Watched half of the 1st episode last night, not a bad show.

If you stick out the first episode it's addictive.

I'm quite enjoying it, Mackenzie Crook is very good in the 1st episode

Just watched Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich. Far out!! I don’t think anything has made me that mad. I get so angry at privileged jerks bullying their way through life and getting away with terrible atrocities. It boils my blood when someone can skip quarantine because they have money. This mongrel should have spent 30 years in gaol!
