Take The Pledge

Is the club kidding we pledge a couple of grand and they want a 25 word essay as to why we should be able to attend a game .... I will give you 2 thousand words you WANKERS ! Any wonder this club is a basket case and has to play at 6 home grounds ...

Sent email to club in response of pledge email

Dear Sir/ Madam

I do not understand as a Season ticket holder I should be eligible to go in the draw regardless of whether i have pledged or not.

So far as a season ticket holder (family of 4 tickets) I have not been able to attend 4 home games. I expect the club will review this and provide a response as i have paid my family membership, it would have been nice to have been placed in the draw for tickets to the Cowboys game.

Guys, crowds are gonna be back in like two weeks. You’ll be able to get your memberships worth I’m sure, plenty of games left

Pretty poor from the club that they didnt put every member in the draw
Other clubs did not just put pledge members in the draw for tickets

after july 1 we have 6 home games left out of 10 games for season expecting a discount next year if we dont get some money back this year
Family membership cost $1500 this year

I doubt you will get a discount on your membership. You need to understand this is not the clubs fault, no one predicted this pandemic. If you haven’t pledged then I’m sure you can sort out a refund with the club however I doubt they will be giving discounts on memberships next year, they’ve already struggled financially this year they won’t want to do it again next year

Best thing you can do is ask the club about how next year will work or if you can get a refund for this year

i think legally we have paid for a product we have not been able to use i think consumer affairs would be interested to see how it plays out.
Think they could credit some for next year

Living outside of Sydney I have not purchased a game attending membership, so please feel free to take my thoughts as worth a grain of salt.

I would have thought in these hard times, with massive numbers of people now unemployed , that the club would have encouraged people to donate their already paid membership, but offer people a refund where they would like.

Give people the choice, don't strong arm them. With this pledge thing, be open and transparent. Give people the option to pledge (donate) some of their money if that makes it easier for people. And they should have done that draw for all members, not just people who pledged.

That’s what they’ve done? They’ve asked people to pledge they aren’t forcing anyone to do it. If people don’t want to pledge and would prefer a refund they’re able to

You’d get a refund not a discount for next year most likely. Just ring the club and ask no need to make it a legal thing, as if the club needs to go through more this year

Well good. Maybe they could have done the draw better? But I admit I haven't been paying much attention to that, as I'm not eligible anyway.

They’re just trying to push people into committing to their membership which I can’t blame them for. They could’ve just sold the box tickets and not done a giveaway at all

I do think the timing was a bit off. Lose to last then promote the pledge.
From what I've read others say, they seem to be mostly improving in the office which is good.

They should have either sold tickets to the corporate box this weekend or put all season ticket holders in a draw not leave out those that have not pledged, it stinks

Mate, you will be in the draw, you don't need to pledge you have already paid in full? The pledge is for those who pay in installments so they can continue to direct debit the money for their season tickets.

Transparency Josh as members that's all we are asking for and in relation to refunds there has been nil policy.

This is suppose to be a club that values its membership base, we watch the games with interest supporting our team through lean times and hope that eventually we will have a team like 2005.

I do know that other clubs are also doing this so its not just the Tigers here is what Parra put together. can you see the difference in professionalism?

https://www.parraeels.com.au/membership/membership-pledge/

I also contacted member services about the pledge and also noted in the clubs interests there are disgruntled members. So to date there has been nil reply, they simply don't want to commit anything in writing.

Agree with earlier comment you should not have to write a statement of 25 words or less all eligible memberships pledged or not sure have gone in the draw.
Naturally it would be limited to NSW members and i am in QLD, but i think members should at least be given something.

Anyway as stated prior happy to pledge if we make the 8 this year, not worried about my membership $ but would like something back in return.

Here is the Panthers what they are doing for there members.

It's interesting when you compare against other clubs.

Hate Panthers, but that's a good idea they're doing with their pledge.
