Takeaway Food ?

I like Oporto.
Don't feel sluggish after eating it like some other take-aways.

As for McDonald's….
It tastes nice but it doesn't satisfy the hunger. Honestly have to eat at least 3 x burgers from there to be filled up.

Subway is hit and miss and I swear it has a laxative effect.

I'm a fan of pizzas.
That's my go to for take-away night.
Dominos, Pizza Hut, the local pizzerias....
Into it all.

Can't stand hungry jacks. Absolutely disgusting.

Went to Dubbo for the weekend and had pizza from Gina's - bloody sensational.

I love a good Pizza, but not from the chains. Demps do you know of a good one in Newcastle that is not one of the majors?

Chinese is always my pick, and we are spoilt for choice here too. There are plenty of good ones to choose from.

My favourite is a curry pie from the bakery !
I don't speak asian , but when I enter the shop the owners smile and talk in asian to each other , I reckon they're saying …. " here comes fat boy ".....
" I bet he asks for a curry pie" !

GEO,what are you doing eating in the out house…..ha ha

Pizzas are great especially if they are made by a private Italian restaurant...
Always love a good Italian sit down meal as well...
I don't knock the pizza chains but sometimes their pizzas taste cardboardy.(pizza hut, dominos esp) ....

Have tried almost all pizza in Newcastle.
Safe bet - Guido's @ Edgeworth.
They do a big NY style pizza, it's delicious.
They have a menu on their website.
Same owner has a store @ Blacksmiths called Big Mama's.

Also Adams@Adamstown.
Does ribs also.

Use to like Robertos @Marks Point but it's closed down now I believe.

Demps,I said earlier that I don't knock the pizza chains but as I said sometimes Pizza Hut and Dominos taste cardboardy,is there an Eagle boys your way, they aren't to bad …..

Nothing beats an Italian restaurant pizza though...

I have had a Big Mama's and they are good. I have heard about the ribs place and work nearby so I might have to give that a go.

Have you heard of the one from one of the clubs in Toronto that are $75 and the size if the table? Haven't had one but know people that have and they are meant to be impressive…and massive!

There's a really good Italian place around the corner from my place that delivers. I love Italian, could eat pasta every day of the week.

What about the guy in America, whose eaten 26 thousand big macs in his life. He's averaged 2 big macs a day since 1972\. He says his taste buds are gone and that he doesn't even taste them anymore.

Ah KFC memories! When we were kids going to the footy our parents would promise us KFC when Wests won and hamburgers if they lost. Needless to say I ended up eating a lot of hamburgers and grew to love them over the years lol.

I used to love KFC too, but having been quite ill from eating It, not just once, but several times during my twenties, I don't think I have touched the stuff ever since! Would much prefer a home cooked or good restaurant meal with veggies instead.

I always thought Maccas was crap takeaway also, but I have to commend them for changing their menu regularly and introducing some more healthy options - the deli choice wraps are actually quite good, especially the grilled honey soy chicken wrap. I've never felt bad after eating one of those.

I used to go to the original Oportos at Bondi back in the late eighties Demps, and there was always a queue lol
It is still ok now (depending on which one you go to) but if you like it now you would have loved the original.

That is where I maybe saw it , Spot on CB. There is so much people with Colonoscopy bags in Hospitals these days it's not funny. 😱pen_mouth:

a colonoscopy is a bowel examination.

I realise that Demps , my comment was more in reference to Cultured Bogan's comment in regards with Cancer's , there is alot of patients with Colonoscopy bags due to Bowel Cancer Surgeries .

You make me  , i can just picture it hobbo . That's quality

Everytime we go to Sydney and pay a visit to the in laws , always go to Tommy's Kebab shop in Smithfield and get a Supreme Pizza with Kebab meat on it , they put that much stuff on the Pizza you have no hope of finding the sauce on the Base QUALITY!!! .
That used to be our Pit stop between 3 and 5 in the morning on a night out and getting on the piss , before we could open our mouths the Owners new our order, the Kebabs they new who had what sauces and who had extra meat  . Good old days

I love all Asian food. My love for it comes from spending 2 years backpacking around Asia as a child with my ( hippy ) parents. Needless to say, Asian take away food here tastes completely different, then the authentic Asian food you get there.
Kids like it too, but they like KFC and Macas too.

Japanese Food is a favourite in our household , the kids go nuts over Sushi.
Quick Story:
2 years ago the Mrs always tried to get me to try Japanese food , i would always say i don't like it ? she would say " how can you say you don't like something if you haven't tried it "? She was meaning Sushi, she would always bust my balls try it? i don't like it , i used to say to her….. how can you like seaweed , raw fish i would say? Then 1 Day i did , she say's what you think ? not to bad , but really i absolutely loved it  , couldn't have her knowing that she was correct right then and then , i needed time to admit she was right  .
But yeah Japanese Food is beautiful

If You're in Darwin over the dry season, go to the Mindl Beach markets. There's a halal Malaysian stall (Dark green van). Definitely worth battling the crowds for. Then enjoy your takeaway and watch the sunset on the beach.
