Talau

regardless of where he's playing in 3 or so years, the noises coming out of pre-season seem to be true. the kid is class. let's give him some time to continue to find his feet and find his true position later. Madge and the coaching staff have done a good job of easing him in, hopefully it continues.

As a winger he worries me under the high ball ...you know Cleary will pepper him with them if our defence hangs tough

I feel more comfortable with him than Jennings.

He could also comfortably fit into a power 5/8 or centre role.
It will be interesting to watch his development.
He’s only on the starter block so long way to go.

Left centre with Mbye offloaded is the best scenario. He could provide leadership for the Broncos.

He caught everything that came his way against Dogs He's only got to catch the first few and they'll look elsewhere

Cleary will definitely try test his positioning. He’s played two games on the wing, big chin will try kick a 40/20 down his side for sure

Great point maybe offer Mmbye to Broncos as a 7 perfect replacement in Talau for centre
Do we have Mmbye for another year 2021 season

I think talau will end up in the back as he is getting bigger he’s also getting slower. I’d play him lock he will get a big test this week if he’s marking too

This old chestnut. We can never have a centre debut without someone calling for them to move to the backrow. It’s like clock work.

Everytime there’s a big outside back everyone says that lol. Joey Leilua is a career centre who’s big enough to be a forward. As long as they are still mobile it’s good that they’re big and Powerful.

I agree @walter He may well turn out to be a champion, but I don't think speed will ever be his best asset.

Bombs to his wing and the lob bomb over the top to kickow for sure.

Have to watch he’s running close to line too.

ive seen talau play a fair bit over the years he will be caught out in defence outwide hes side to side movement is slow always has been dont get me wrong the kid can tackle you run straight into him he will clean you up but its the guys with a bit of speed and footwork will beat him 9 out of 10 times thats why he should be in the forwards hope he proves me wrong

Yeah his lateral movement is a bit slow to be a top shelf outside back. I think 5/8 or back row is his position long term. No reason why he can't stay in the backs for now until he grows into his frame though.

Wing is easier to defend than centre. Having Mbye next to him will help him a lot.

Talau has the makings of a fine centre. WTs issue is we have failed to retain any winger with a semblance of genuine pace over 100m - Koroibete, JAC or even Papenhuyzen. Match him or Hoffman with one of these players and your attack moves into a different gear.

It’s so important to have a good centre/winger combination. If your centre is poor your winger won’t see much footy, if your winger is poor the centre does all the work for nothing. That’s why Nofa is having such a good year so far Joey is a strike centre.

Talau will keep improving and getting better hopefully he can have another good game this week. Is the lining up against To’o or Mansour? Both wingers aren’t very tall we should try kick at Talau

This is a rare game where I think our wingers are taller. There will be huge pressure on Lucy as Cleary will be kicking for Kikau all night.
