Tallyn Da Silva #270

Easier to do at a successful club when trophy's are on the cards VS a club with 3 back to back spoons.. We are coming from a low base..

I also think he saw the investment in Lachy and thought "I want that".. so the Galvin saga is coming back to bite us..

I do like that we aren't being pushed around though...

I also think that the "5 clubs" that wanted Tallyn is a smoke screen by his manager and the tigers are calling his managers bluff.. TDS doesnt go anywhere and start next year..
Newcastle can't pay him 600k either, surely.

That's almost $3m wrapped up in the spine.

Do you really think thatll happen?
With us allowing this much extra time for teams to prepare offers, we will be paying overs to keep this kid...if we even want him.
Once again, we shoot ourselves in the dick.

The problem is that it sounds like TDS doesn't want to wait..

Realistically, by 2027, TDS will be taking over as starting hooker or very close to it..

Hes not ready now.

I am guessing, but would be pretty certain there is an option to sign both API and TDS, but the TDS camp have said he's leaving if we sign API... So it's on TDS... and it's not the club's fault imo if he doesn't want to compromise on the plans for the team..
What does it matter whether he is ready now?
We will be extending them for season 2027 onwards.
Api remains No.1 until then.

I reckon there’s every chance TDS has been told Api will be starting at dummy half for the next 2 years barring injury …tough titties.

That’s what happens when you’re the proven player
Totally agree, you start your best players and Api is far superior to TDS, if he is delusional and believes he should be starting over Api he can go. The club has Haywood in the background who will then take over when Api goes, if TDS can't wait, see you later champ.

Seems like a waste of time all the effort into tds...i think we need to scrap this development club BS
Feeder club more like it
The way 9’s have been handled at this club the last 10 years has been awful. Liddle, Simpkin and TDS all at one time were earmarked as the future. When Liddle left, it was okay cos we had Simpkin. Then Simpkin left and it was okay cos we had TDS. Now losing TDS is okay cos we have Haywood. So my confidence in Haywood isn’t too high based on recent history.

You haven’t seen this script before? What do you think his motive is? I just think that one made sense, no confirmation
Ok well I think we leave the conjecture to the side as I dont think it is accurate at all based upon things Tallyn has said about learning his trade under Api.
If he thinks he'll be ready to rock by season 27, I agree with him. If they resign Api, they are telling him they do not agree. Id be looking elsewhere as well if that was the case.

I have said all along that there is a deal to be made to keep both. If Tallyn isn't buying in why wait until Nov 1 if there are opportinities on the table. I don't see this going down the same way as Galvin; however, it could. Any of us outside of the tent are just speculating. None of us know what discussions have been had and what, if any tension, is involved.

There is a big difference between the approach Galvin took and what appears to be happening here. I personally get the approach; in the workforce, if there is a problem, perceived or otherwise, you deal with it at the first opportunity instead of letting it fester. Tallyn has said if we extend Api he will test the market, so why wait until 1 Nov if the outcome is inevitable. Let him determine what he thinks he is worth and thenwe can make Tallyn a deal, or not.

Nothing to lose sleep over and plenty of time for us to find a replacement for Api - as he is celarly going to be here post 27.
That’s where I think it’s at. He or his manager (manager has been the vocal one) has made it clear he will not play second fiddle to Api beyond next season.

That’s only if he has been told Api has been resigned.
They both have a year and a bit remaining.

As a club we just have always been blessed with strong nines, from Senter to Farah now Api so players below them were always going to be shafted sadly as they are not the same calibre. Liddle, Simpkins and TDS sadly are not at the level as the previous mentioned or they would've been kept or played more for the club. Liddle was injury ridden whilst here and personally is not an elite hooker, Simpkins the same and TDS is fast out of dummy half but his craft around the ruck is average, and that is being nice.

Do you think thats an unfair position for him to take?
There comes a time when the young bull superceedes the old.
Beyond next season, Api is old.
He should take huge money to help out Mal over in Perth.
