OFFICIAL Taylan "Tiny" May

I think 500k for 2 years is a fair starting point, but a manager would not be doing their job if they didn’t at least investigate to see if they can get more.
The Roosters need a centre, but after what happened with Terrell, I would assume that would not be a good fit for him.
The Eels might have a look at him as a centre/winger, but I can’t see how he fits in to any other team as a priority signing.
Think the road leads to us more than any other team as you say it's just a money sticking point, he will be keen to play with his brother.

We have to be in the box seat surely

If we sign him, I'd much rather him start in reserves, even with the Skelton injury.

Staines is a capable enough guy to fill in depending on the severity of Skelton's injury.

Putting May in reserves for a minimum of 4-6 weeks gives him time to get his match fitness back and get up to speed with the team at training, while easing a lot of the media scrutiny. The team is in a good spot and the extra attention that would come with signing him and starting him wouldn't be great. Let it fizzle out while he's not in the spotlight and then if we call him up in round 10 or so, it'll be out of the newscycle with things like origin taking precedence and I just don't think people will care as much.

I heard on the weekend we have gone ice cold on him, there could be something coming out soon regarding another indiscretion. I hope its all hearsay the kid is that talented to throw it away.

Wow that's really disappointing if true but if it has legs and hits the media again it might be time to let it go, if it is recent it would show that he cannot control his impulses, that's not the player we need it will come back to bite us.

"Was" being the operative word.

Surely he doesn't expect to walk straight into another team for $600k a season after being out of the game since the middle of last year, missing a preseason and not having had any training with a squad since that time due to NRL stand down policies.

Penrith didn't give him the same sort of support that they showed his older brother who was given character references and support by the Cleary's at his court appearances, I guess he was close to the Cleary family, but not quite so lucky in the case of Taylan May, Penrith had no hesitation to sack him, giving him an undisclosed amount of money as a settlement and sent him on his way.

I would really like to see him signed by us, given our lack of quality depth in the outside backs and hope like crazy that he would stay out of trouble and solve a few problems for us, but I can't see Richo paying top dollar from day one when weighing up the risks that may be attached.

god - what did he do to his face and neck? Can that stuff come off? I dont know. You all think its cool? Can't judge any person.- but the merchandise and advertising dept. will have to earn their money if he signs.
