Taylan "Tiny" May

Saw this on social media with Taylan saying he hopes to join the Tigers with a hint on the colours.

I hope we do sign him , he will not be a huge cost , will know he can’t stuff up , but will add to us later in the season or next season , it’s a position we need to add and on his day he is a s good as any top centres , rehab if the stories are true will assist him and you don’t need to be in rehab for long periods , sometimes a 6 week stint will be enough to clear the mind and get back on track , I think he has been doing rehab for about a month so it may be in the next few weeks the club will check up on his outcome and make a call

Am I the only person thinking that Taylan may should be a pass. At least till he sorts out his mental health issues and gets a more level head?

No, you're not the only person. I don't get the clamour.

He's not an established, professional first grader. He's played like 30 games since 2021. We're are well equipped enough with former Penrith outside backs in that category. I don't think this squad needs raw speculative talent added to it, It needs more experience and consistency in its outside backs. Someone who is going to turn up and offer 70% week in week out. We have other players who can ice games. Joseph Manu would be great. Herbie Farnworth mould of player would be good as well.

Taylan May is not the answer to our centre woes. I could accept him on the wing, but his FG games at centre were bang average. Let's not forget he hasn't been in any system for a year. Has he even been training? Even if he signed tomorrow, he would be nowhere near first grade ready. It could take months.

I think he could be blindfolded and still tackle better than a few of our current centres.
