Taylor and his boys deserve it .

It's actually funny to think back to posts around the forum with people very confident that we were going to be competitive. We were never going to be anything other than bottom 4\. The spoon doesn't really bother me - I'd rather not have it, but there comes a point when you just roll with it as a fan. Balmain had it, Wests had it, Wests Tigers will get it. We move on.

If WTs don't get it…..then miracles do happen.....

Maybe the spoon is what we need, hit rock bottom and have the players and coaches face the harsh reality that we are well and truly on the bottom of the heap.

People keep saying how can we afford to pay out Taylor, how can we afford a new Coach and pay them the money they deserve ?

To me privitisation would be the answer to all this. Have performance based results and annual reviews like most industries have and then if they don't meet the annual goals then your remuneration is also affected.

But to say we can't afford this and that then we are burying our heads in the sand. All the club needs to do is to peruse what has been mentioned and see where it may lead.

It will be still Wests Tigers irrespective of who owns it.

And yes Taylor deserves the spoon for his inept coaching ability and his perseved lack of ability for motivating and inspiring a team.

So how do you lure a new coach in with whatever strict KPI you put in place in the short attention span of time you are giving them to avoid this happening in the future? No one in their right mind, including the Hasslers or the Bennetts would be up for that sort of challenge. It would also be remiss of the club to think that a 15th to Top 4 finish is going to happen in 1 season. Throw all the cash you want at it, 2 facts drive this change; an updated roster with depth, and a change in culture at the club. A new head coach may have control of one half of 1 of those 2\. I'm not a JT defender as witnessed by other posts and threads, and I know everyone's patience is teetering on non-existent, but sometimes cash can buy you happiness.

The stupid statements from the board, such as we can go from here to a top four finish, are just an indication of their complete lack of football experience. They're living in a wish world.
They haven't got a clue about what's required to make up a good football team,
Our only hope is thatMoss knows what he's doing. From past performances , it would appear from the past, that he does
JT has no answers , but we're stuck with him until it's possible to replace him without costing the club a payout (if the spoken about get out clause exists)
All we can do is to expect the same next season , and hope for a huge lift in the performances from our younger blokes, and the rest of the team( or that everyone else agree to play with one hand tied behind their backs)

Ah, watching the other day I was still thinking I'd rather see them lose and at least do something than see the incessant 5 hit ups, bomb…all. Game. Long.
That just drove me insane. I know such poor completion rate is a guaranteed loss but I reckon I'd still rather they lost by 22 in a game like that than the infamous campelltown cowboys game.
And anyway, as wd says, over time your team is going to come last at some stage. I can't quote stats but it feels like 7 wins is a lot for a team to finish last.

I cant recollect any team getting 7 wins and the spoon but it will probably happen this year but realistically anywhere in the last 4 is a poor year

I agree. The embarrassment of getting the spoon will be more beneficial to our club going forward than what avoiding the spoon would be. Finishing dead last will hopefully inspire a more committed outfit next year. Here's hoping anyhow.

Just working harder and being more determined because they failed this year is a recipe for more disappointment.

Nothing changes unless something changes.

Funny how some forum members seem to delight in crapping all over our team and coach. I was talking to a fan of both the Titans and the Bulldogs the other day and he took a different view.

He said that from what he has seen, the Weststigers have a great future with their talented young players and coach. If a couple of decisions had gone our way in a few games, we would have won a lot more than we have.

Tend to agree with him. Good talent coming through, getting rid of some prentenders, bringing our salary cap under control, new training facilities, new board and fitness staff, a new CEO. A lot of good stuff happening moving forward.

Lighten up.

This is why Taylor and the Tigers haven't been coping it from the media, because they can understand the development stage we are in.

I've said it all year, we are developing several kids at once, not just 2 or 3\. This equates to a longer development period.

Would be nice to have Brooks coming into a side with established players, but we just haven't got the squad at the moment (previous board, coaches and ceo created the salary cap drama).

I still have no doubt these 20-22 year olds will be much better down the track for being thrown in the deep end. Unfortunately us supporters just have to live with it for another year or 2.

There is no quick fix with our salary cap dramas.

And i was speaking to a couple of Roosters supporters just recently and they shocked at how we have gone. They were like you used to have an ok team, this year its like wow what happened. Followed by lots of laughing.

Goes both way mate.

How can you be critical of something you dont really give a stuff about?

A fan of TWO teams, seems staunch… :unamused:

Jumping to conclusions is a dopey thing to do. He followed the Dogs because his grandson played for them. He now has an interest in the Titans because his grandson is playing for them this season. Get it?

Got it. It seems to me he's a fan of his grandson, not any NRL team.
