Taylor no longer sole selector

Sirro is a lazy lump of cow dung and was demoted because of it.
For the first time in years I am happy with this clubs direction.

When was the last time someone indentured in the first 17 was "sacked."

We had Benji benched, but who was actually last to be dropped to state cup?

Eddy Pettybourne? BMM? Matt Utai?

Thanks TT. I think info like this is important for supporters who all "invest" in one way or another financially in the club.

Seeing Buckets in the coaching box on Friday night was a bit of a surprise, but as you've just said, there is a reason for that. He's getting hands on, which is a good thing. We've been "rebuilding" for years and not much has come from that so far.

O'Neill on a mission to prove he will not be swayed by frienships / loyalties.
To his credit Taylor is handling these changes reasonably well - he doesn't really have a choice, his job is well and truly on the line. Expect more offloads in coming weeks.

Very good, that's what we need, no more boys club.

And expect more offloads….........good, but why wasn't that happening before?

Cherington as previously stated is off to Penrith if Farah stays in 2017 - decision imminent.
Liddle now rated better option by coaching panel.

Hopefully Robbie won't be here next year, for the good of the club he can't be here next year. Will they pick Cherry and LIddle or just one? Would Liddle be ready for the top grade?

David Gower now a target with salary cap costings set aside to secure him for 2017-2018.

oh boy............thought things were moving forward. We'd be better off spending the money elsewhere.

Glad that ET will be signed though, he's been awesome.

Kinda ok with Moses and Brooks taking up their year extensions and on less money (although the money is still too high for what they are producing on the paddock)

Taylor will definitely not be here in 2018, they would both prefer he wasn't here in 2017, but there bargaining positions has been greatly diminished by their poor form in recent weeks.

Well at least that is set in stone about Taylor. Wouldn't be unusual I guess if their lack of form is partly due to them not wanting Taylor as coach.

Just about every player in the squad is being assessed for goalkicking ability, nobody really stepping up. Moses groin problem is not as bad as reported.

So, if Mitch's groin is not that bad, why isn't he kicking goals? too much pressure given he's already struggling on the field?

It's not that Rankin is bad, he certainly tries, reminds me of John Morris. Would like to see how he would go at 5/8 though.

One thing that made me laugh is Brooks and Moses not wanting Taylor here next year.

These two have hides like elephants! With the extreme loyalty he has shown towards them, even allowing them to have a say in our attacking structures by "releasing the chains", they should be kissing his freckle. They should be mowing his lawn and washing his car. They should be repainting his house…..These two have been in our bottom group of performers this year and when he did release the chains we got to see exactly why he had them on chokers to start with....my dog is less impulsive.

Lol fair dinkum, kids these days...I don't rate Taylor as a coach but sacking these two is almost more preferable to moving him on.

Thanks TT for your imput ! Good to hear that the team members are all a close knit mob.
I can confirm Liddle has been offered a 2 year contract.Source…...his parents.

So our next run of losses will be buckets fault?

The can of worms have been opened ,Oniel is now the person pulling the stings so from now on indeed it will be him that has to wear what the team is doing! JT seems to be the fall guy ,he is the guy that has no say but will be paraded out for press conferences ,and the hard questions .i think from this week the captain should not be next to Taylor at pressers but Oniel needs to be ,you can not have a final say on operations and hide behind a door .Whether you like Taylor or not this is a pretty grubby way to treat someone ,if he is not good enough to make all the decisions and coach the team please get a set and SACK him!

Brookls and Moses thing is interesting.
Half the supporter base has questions over Taylor but because the two halves are not signing - and they are in the fore front of it know What's going on better than we do - we bag them for tyring to call the shots.
Looking after their own best interests instead of signing on for blind loyalty and no doubt the club at some stage will do the same. Can't blame either for that.

Our halves aren't going anywhere and they know it.

They tried to tell the media that they will leave negotiations to there Manager but really no other Club wanted a piece of them.

It's not that simple mate. Taylor could also quit if it was that bad.

Let's be honest. Taylor has been a terrible coach so far. This may be the best thing that can happen to Taylor in that he gets some support.

That's true. Its funny how most on here said it was disgraceful the way Potter was shackled and had little to no say on retention and to some extent selections. Yet now the same people are rejoicing that the same thing is happening to Taylor. As for Broses - if these 2 little sooks aren't professional enough to play their best football because they don't like the coach then we should release them. What happens if they don't like the next coach - another 3 years of mediocrity and refusing to play their best. Maybe Oneill should sit these 2 down and hit them hard with some home truths.

Taylor a young kid?

Its hard to say who replaced Siro. I erred on the low side. You could say it was ET and if that the case then JT could hardly pick ET from Penrith. Debunking this selection improvement stuff.

Lets be real about this.

Felise, Lovett and Aolai would have been easier to drop and were behind Sirro in the pecking order at the start of the year.Sirro was picked in the City Origin side (i know that is not saying much but it is a supposed Rep team)

For Siro to be be dropped ahead of one of these was a statement which is unusual for our club.

Its a selection improvement based on form and performance.

Something that should have been happening for years here.

And i agree. He should have been dropped earlier. But i don't think that's enough to say taylors selections have improved greatly. Siro gone isn't s massive change in the team, although a good one.

I would have to disagree. It is a massive change purely for the message it has sent every other player in the squad - perform or shake hands with the reggies coach! One selection change can make a massive difference and I think this is such a case. Whether the decision was Taylor's, O'neill's or a combination of all coaches and O'neill, it is a decision that has greatly benefited the team. Accountability. That's the message that has been sent loud and clear to every player. If each player performs as well as they are able, then we can better ascertain the coach's ability. Let's wait and see. The next few weeks should tell us a lot about whether we'll be looking for a new head coach at season's end.

Sounds like they have been going to the Robbie Farah school of "How to treat your coach"

Yep could be right - they see a supposed leader of the club behave this way and get what he wants so why not them.

Thats funny. That is the first thing to come to my mind when reading TTs comments.

No surprise O'Neill isn't backing JT too much as he had no say in choosing him as coach. Normally in sports when a new GM comes in, the coach is counting his days. O'Neill would be leading recruitment and negotiations and that is influenced by the vision of the coach. Kudos to Taylor if he's willing to accept feedback and implement it; he needed to improve performances and is doing so. He could easily quit and say his job is being compromised…the DT would love it.

Would love to know what the teams reaction to Farah's latest comments are TT?

Im glad ONeill changed the team last week. I wonder what the changes were and if JAC was in the original side at all? Just shows JT has no bloody idea.

Thanks for the update TT, really makes me excited that the club seems to be finally heading in the right direction after ten years of drivel. My son has been watching us lose his entire life so I will be happy for him to finally start seeing some success and have a smile on his face when we leave the games.

I will b absolutely filthy however if we fail to hold onto JAC. I'm sick of our club being organ donors to the richer clubs. If he leaves it'll just show that we're bottom feeders still content with mediocrity and the endless cycle will continue.

I watched "Moneyball" again last night and one of the lines I remember is GM Billy Beaney saying: "There's the rich clubs, then there's the poor clubs, then there's fifty feet of crap and then there's us".

Glad to see we are finally starting to make inroads so that we might not become that.

I doubt they care much, it's the coaching staff and administration that he'd be aggravating more than the players.
