Taylor's tactics stifling young tigers

Media job is to make comments so you watch their tv show , radio or news article. They couldn't give two stuffs about tigers and are just ensuring they get their big pay check to do stuff all but talk about footy

I think its fair to say that most if nearly not all the good media judges are bemused with our tactics.

I'd go one step further. Any rational human being who is a rugby league supporter thinks JT has the worst tactics that have ever been seen within first grade rugby league.

I will state that he does have some positives. I believe that he is better at choosing the team and picking players in the right spot for them that other coaches are. Moving Lawrence into the backrow was a smart move.

He needs to change his tactics or possibly get a coach in who knows how to attack and Taylor just coaches the defence and picks the team.

What an outstanding football brain Alex Tricolas has, no one would dare think JT knows more than him.
His name has been on everyones lips since he captained his side to 6 premierships in a row.

Who is this nobody???? What does he know????

I'll tell ya - NOTHING!!! he is a muppet.

He must be right though, because he thinks the same as us!!!!

Get real, give JT a go.
When he has had a fair go and if he fails, then - go get him.

Russell Taylor has complete control of his own destiny. He has a fair go each week. He needs to coach what he has not what he helped coach at the Rorters. Best example I can give is the defensive structure with Brooks is not working and has not worked in 13 rounds. But next week it will be exactly the same and we will be exploited. Also as others have adhered to if you keep running your forwards one off for 4 tackles a set, the defense will hurt you, because they can compress and not worry about a ball going out the back. I am not asking for his head, just coach what he has and work on a balanced game plan. We may still loose but we need to get some confidence back into our team and scoring points is one of the best ways.

So you want Taylor to give the youngest side in the nrl a free pass to do what ever they want. I'm sure that would work out good for them.

An an interview with James Tedesco on the Sunday Footy show today.

John's first question to Tedesco is " how hard is it to get your own game into the coach's idea" he asks bemused like he just cant comprehend the situation.

Fitler's first question to Tedesco is " are you still enjoying your footy" he asks genuinely and would not ask if he thought we looked like a team who were enjoying themsleves.

The writing is on the wall here and the questions are only going to get harder and the pressure is going to build.

As i said earlier, an immortal in Johns, one of the games greatest coaches, two premiership winning halves, theyve all seen it and are starting to comment.

If our style doesnt change i give this four weeks before the blow torches come out.

Well said, someone with two eyes has spoken…

Sorry trying to post from my iphone I hope the link works have a great day all.

Thankyou lilytiger….. Doesnt Willow usually post news links, must not like this one, to simillar to the post i forwarded in removing the CEO, well if I was jibbering I gues thats what the media use, because people must like jibbering...
Such an emotional reading with no substance of rationalism.
I guess some people think that NRL is also a game of unexpectancy, thrill and suspense not just sustainable boring robotic viewing...

Dealing with the rational morons at the tax department or state debt recovery is becoming more exciting.

Canberra also won only 5 from the first 12 , havent won a comp in more then 20 years and are no chance of winning this year and will struggle to make the finals as they cant tackle to save themselves. Ricky has had a chance to bring in his players which Taylor hasn't so all in all i would take Taylor over Ricky

at least the raiders has given there fans something to cheer about not like our boring lot.

I'd love to share your positivity re Taylor, Russell, Happy & co, but after hearing him at the presser the other night, he was clueless as to what to do next and that's a really worrying sign.

I would like to put forward the following points.1.does this system we are playing under JT guarantee future success?answer. of course not.2.even if success were to follow after how many seasons may it occur.answer.there is no given time.3.if we have to endure another 2 years of this how many of us will still care?

In answer to your third question tp, I think my care factor has already dropped significantly, probably to the point of where it was for me in the first couple of years of the merger!

Maybe it's just a reflection of where I'm at in my life right now or maybe it's a genuine response to the sorry state of my team/club, but I am astounded at how calm I am watching a live game now - where once I was so vocal, jumping up and down at every attacking raid, my heart racing at a rate of knots, fist pumping and sweaty. I would often retreat to another room during a close match because I just couldn't handle watching the last 5 minutes lol.

Now I just sit and watch it with a feeling of resignation - there is no sweat forming, my heart doesn't race at all (which might be a good thing at my age), I only walk out of the lounge room now because of disinterest, not over-excitement and I am generally pretty quiet throughout. I did display a slight fist pump the other night when our pack started to roll forward and we scored some tries, in that all too brief 15 minutes of play, but deep down in my heart I knew it would be all for nothing and we'd end up losing anyway, so I was extremely un-emotional when Don crossed so easily for that final try.

Maybe the changes in my demeanour are good for me, who knows. I mean, fancy getting all worked up, excited and stressed out over a damn football team anyway - there are way more important things in life to focus on….but I do miss them :frowning:

I feel the exact same way Flip , the heart no longer races , the remote controls are all intact , I know longer feel highs or lows when watching .
Is it because we are so used to watching a mediocre team each week , or have we been drained to the point we no longer care !?

Im scarily numb at the moment too Flip.

Sad really.

Try supercoach and support the players you pick…..its way more satisfying!

Not a bad idea, Simon, I'll look into it. I'm actually getting more of a thrill out of our tipping comp than out of supporting WT at the moment, which is quite sad. It doesn't help that I support Carlton in the AFL either

Excellent article.

The pressure is building, and rightly so.

TITG,Russell is gonna kill me,but what I have said many times,I have been spoken down, and that what Taylor is doing is the right thing….he may be doing the right thing defensively, but he is killing the attack potential and exciting football we know the team can play...if he is any sort of coach he will set a game plan up so these young players can play what they do best ....rugby league not just 5 hit ups and a bomb to no where....variety is the spice of life,so I've heard...if what JT is doing is teaching them to play football,I prefer to watch something else, what I played and what we see now are totally different games....I remember playing Rugby League where you defended and attacked to win a game ...defending and not attacking gives the opposition much more to play with...

I will give JT the benefit of the doubt,he is coach, but if there is no improvement by 2016,then the WTs have lost me,I can't stand to see talent wasted on dreary play.... :supporter: :supporter:

Your more patient than me waiting until sometime next year.

Im going the next four weeks, one big win wont do it it ill need to see four consistent efforts, a change of style and attitude.

I find this really interesting Flip, sad but interesting.

I could have written this myself, me and my partner are the same as you, as i see are a few others that have commented here.

Its almost identical to my feelings watching our games now, i went and folded some washing a couple of weeks back. Even at their worst last year i wasnt feeling like we do now.

If a percentage of us on here are like this i really hate to think how many others who dont use the forum are just going through the motions or simply just giving up and moving away from the Wests Tigers and rugby league.

Its a very sad reality.
