Taylor's tactics stifling young tigers

Excellent article.

The pressure is building, and rightly so.

TITG,Russell is gonna kill me,but what I have said many times,I have been spoken down, and that what Taylor is doing is the right thing….he may be doing the right thing defensively, but he is killing the attack potential and exciting football we know the team can play...if he is any sort of coach he will set a game plan up so these young players can play what they do best ....rugby league not just 5 hit ups and a bomb to no where....variety is the spice of life,so I've heard...if what JT is doing is teaching them to play football,I prefer to watch something else, what I played and what we see now are totally different games....I remember playing Rugby League where you defended and attacked to win a game ...defending and not attacking gives the opposition much more to play with...

I will give JT the benefit of the doubt,he is coach, but if there is no improvement by 2016,then the WTs have lost me,I can't stand to see talent wasted on dreary play.... :supporter: :supporter:

No TT not going to kill you. That is your opinion and you are entitled to it.

I am glad you are giving JT and the boys a reasonable amount of time to come good. It may not be enough time but I think there should be enough improvement to keep you hanging inn there for 2016\. Good on ya.

Like many i have lost much enthusiasm watching the team this year.It is not because we are losing it is because the coach is strangling our attack which makes it nearly impossible to be competitive.I am an old bugger who has enjoyed watching football since the unlimited tackle days of the mid 60s but i have never seen such a defensive mindset as i see now.i doubt that i have ever witnessed a more boring gameplan.

I live in Europe now and stream the matches with a big delay. It's gotten to a point where I now look at the score and if they have lost I don't watch it. Haven't watched a match for a while….

They threw the ball around against the Titans and really tried to get some attack going, but with no pace on our left edge and a 3 and a 4 that are basically state cup players at very best your options in attack become very limited.

Give Moses and Brooks a few flyers to put into space things may change. Anyway after being at the ground for both the Cowboys and Titans games, their did seem a real effort was made to play some football last Friday night and that was not the case the week before.

I still think we have to give Taylor some time and I am sure the club will stick by him till the end of next year till they get a bit jumpy

To quote Chris Sandow

**“Everyone doesn’t pay to come and see me play structured footy.

“I think if he (Arthur) lets me play how I want to play, we’ll win more games.**

This seems a familiar story, new coach bringing in a structure that doesnt really suit his play makers, club languishing at the bottom of the table.

Thankfully Brooks and Moses have a little more class and wouldnt openly challenge Taylor in this way.

Word is Sandow might be in reserve grade this week lol.

lol…Using another Clubs laundry to have a dig at Taylor....well played Sir...

Which leads back to what I said the other day

Lets see what we do once Simona and Nofoaluma are back in the centres and have some match fitness behind them

At the very least they will have defences second guessing what we might do and not just sit on Tedesco

Given its relevance

Hell yeah

But seriously i can not remember a player challenging a coach like that.

Its so classless and desperate.

If Arthur has any hope with the Eels he would have to punt him for the rest of the year.

And what a way to endear himself to any future coaches

Guess his next contract will be with the Venusian Vapours

lol read this on wiki the other day

Wests made the semis again in 1992, but Taylor was temporarily benched mid-season. Ongoing conflict with Warren Ryan saw Taylor seeking an early release from his contract. The release was not granted and Taylor remained for the 1993 season.[2][3] Taylor said, "The press came up with some interesting reasons why I wanted to leave, but I prefer to keep most of them to myself because they have been pretty well resolved. One reason, however, was I thought our style of play was too restrictive, too structured and by the end of the year, very predictable. I wasn't the only player to think that way.[4]

If he could handle the cold Super League.

His style of play makes sense over there.

But that Wests side was completely different to our current situation Prmz

They had a lot of seasoned hard heads mixed in with a lot of talented youngsters

So we are whinging about Taylor holding back our young guns…..but when another player at another club has the kahunas to mention it....its classless and grubby

You cant have your cake and eat it too....I find it refreshing a player speaking his mind instead of the personalityless, robotic, monosyllabic cliched responses ala DCE...he knows hes on the outer and isnt afraid to speak his mind....Im sure brooks moses and teddy are feeling as he is.....wonder if Teddy is looking at the Raiders any differently now?

How long will these three...and Cherry eventually....put up with this ho hum footy>?
The offers will come......

Will depend on if they can see Taylor's big picture and want to be a part of the future of his big picture

Young minds are impressionable and if you are told something often enough you can start to believe anything.
Player agents on the other hand aren't susceptible to the coaches ramblings

Dunno Hobbo

Taylor has turned Taupau into a starter which was the one thing he seemed to really want at the start of the season

Watch the cowgirls game again !

He'll command top coin with his next deal and if we're not signing any newbies until 2017 ? And he's offered top dollar with another club with brighter prospects why would he want to Hang around ?

Brooks / Moses /teddy will hang around I think , due to their youth !
