The Club commits to a player in Moses on a 4 year deal at the time before even seeing how he will actually go in 1st Grade maybe a 2 year deal to start of with and see how we go from there .
But hey we are the Wests Tigers and we don't learn from our experiences signing long term deal with players.
There is no other Club in the NRL that believes in POTENTIAL more than us :unamused: .

We're really up the creek for depth at 6 if Martin has gone to Penrith. Then again, the way this club is seemingly run, we get what we deserve at the moment.

Yep, heard the same thing. So we've let another #6 go…..Marshall, Austin and now Te Maire Martin. Must be more to Moses than I have noticed? Or maybe just another dumb decision by WT?

It's a fair decision WT have a 5/8 locked in for the next 10 yrs, who in reality needs another yr to establish himself completly given our young side.

Martin will need a 2 yrs to be ready for FG if ever, Penrith have older halves in Wallace and Soward and a poor record in injury management so it suits him better.

Best thing for Martin and best thing for our club as you can't spend a fotune on 2 young 5/8s with one playing NSW cup

But is he a first grade 5/8 ???( the one we've got now, I mean.
And I have a real feeling that most of the yeses, will be more wishful thinking, than anything else ,
I'm not saying whether Martin would have been the answer or not, as its way too early to be able to say,
What if after next year ( if he is still in his protected spot ) Moses hasn't got any better, what 5/8 do we go out and buy.
If Austin could've proved that he was the best 5/8 then he should have been kept, ,instead of giving an unproven kid a two or three year trial.
No wonder we are a bottom dweller club

lets be very clear hear JT let all these players go thinking they were no good to his system, just think how we would be going with AUSTIN, BODENE, AND BLAIR AS WELL AS KORO. Taylor is a shit coach and will get us not 1- but 2 wooden spooons.

The reason Koro left was Potter refusing to put him back in first grade despite 7 tries in two weeks.

Austin was the one we should have tried to keep. It was obvious. He killed it in the preseason and trials and deserved the starting 6.

It took an injury to Anasta for Potter to give him a go.

I don't think Potter got a fair go but those 2 decisions alone condemned him.
