Te Marie Martin --> Penrith

lets be very clear hear JT let all these players go thinking they were no good to his system, just think how we would be going with AUSTIN, BODENE, AND BLAIR AS WELL AS KORO. Taylor is a s*** coach and will get us not 1- but 2 wooden spooons.

I suspect we would be travelling about the same. With austin instructed not to run and koro struggling defensively. Blair may actually have done well in taylors structure though and bodene always tried hard. But i doubt we'd be much further ahead with any or all of those guys still on board.

I think he is signed for 3 years so 2 spoons maybe an optimistic estimate

Ahahaha…in the depths of despair at least we keep a sense of humour...lol...good one!

wish people would stop crying over Bodene…........we had no damn choice, by all reports he wanted to go back home.

and as for Blair, every man and his dog on this forum wanted him gone, he only started to come "ok" when put into the prop position and even then, given the money we were paying him.........he wasn't worth it.

Austin is the only one that's been a regret letting go

We're really up the creek for depth at 6 if Martin has gone to Penrith. Then again, the way this club is seemingly run, we get what we deserve at the moment.

Cleary has just been selected in the Aust Schools team. It seems to make a nonsense of the argument you can't have two good young 5/8s at the club.

I despair at the direction the club is heading under Taylor. Is it just me or do others have the view he alienates many of our good younger players?

He also received some veiled criticism from Gould on commentary about allowing Brooks and Moses to play their natural games.

Open your eyes. Moses is being held back by a coaches stubbornness. None of you would be saying a bad word about Moses if the coach allowed the forwards to offload the ball and get second phase happening. I'm telling you now that Moses would light this competition up with just one simple game plan change by Taylor. Doubt the kid all you want but hopefully your eyes will be opened when Taylor eventually gets sacked

I dont have a problem with this… Mitchell will carve up the NRL within the next 2 years and Martin will always be waiting for injury etc to get a game. At Penrith, he will be in a similar position, but is more likely to get a chance plus gain experience from established NRL Halves over the next 2-3 years.

Good Luck Kid!

I think so as well but its not a done deal is it. I suppose Martin isn't as well.

Agreed… Hence why I wouldnt risk having the 2.

Personally I feel its important to have an experienced back-up playing State Cup, not a young buck still learning thier trade.

Some dope on the radio says something and this forum goes into meltdown!!

Instead of listening to another rumour, has any one of you contacted the club to ask?

Thought not.

Come on Col why wait for a decent source when any number of online or social media dart throwers offer so much grist? We've had players leaving the club only to re-sign days later and probably a second 25 list of players who were supposedly interested in or talking to. Worst of all, someone puts together a Facebook post of a photoshopped article which anyone could easily see was a fake by going to the actual website and that rumour is still floating around. Who are we supposedly after now? Luke Burgess? The only consistent player I've seen is Pauli Pauli.

Don't know why so many are surprised this kid has moved on if he has ?

Moses can't do no wrong , even an inform Austin was told that he had no future :brick:

The Club commits to a player in Moses on a 4 year deal at the time before even seeing how he will actually go in 1st Grade maybe a 2 year deal to start of with and see how we go from there .
But hey we are the Wests Tigers and we don't learn from our experiences signing long term deal with players.
There is no other Club in the NRL that believes in POTENTIAL more than us :unamused: .

It all comes down to our management, or more succinctly, non-existence of management, the club is a basket case.

Wrong Newtown - It was a basket case. Now it's a club with no money.

I know where i would have gone…lol career killer

You think so? Staying at WT as a half/5/8 is the real career killer. We have already been told the future and Moses and Brooks are never to be dropped.

The reason Koro left was Potter refusing to put him back in first grade despite 7 tries in two weeks.

Austin was the one we should have tried to keep. It was obvious. He killed it in the preseason and trials and deserved the starting 6.

It took an injury to Anasta for Potter to give him a go.

I don't think Potter got a fair go but those 2 decisions alone condemned him.

This isn t accurate.

Potter brought Austin to the club, explained that Anasta was there to help Brooks along. Austin was happy to bide his time, when he got his chance he made the most of it.

If Potter was still here Austin would be too.
