Bateman has played centre in the past in games and is agile enough to cover. Naden/Kepaoa to wing.
Well Staines gives sheens the option to switch him to fullback if Laurie goes bad!

If Brooks and Doueihi can’t conjure up a winning game plan behind this toward pack .. they’ll never be able to win games .. this will be a do or die season for them both. Having Api out of dummy half is going to be a big bonus for them both. I’m still not sure to have as Naden’s partner in the centres .. Talau or Kepaoa .. after watching the trial game against the Raiders, Kepaoa has developed into beast, he’s huge .. not super quick but quick enough to be a real handful out wide. I can see Sheens and Benji him turning into a hard running back rower this season.
Also gotta think whether or not we go with speed in Staines on the wing .. ??
Anyways .. bring it on .. Sunday is our 1st game against the Titans .. let’s go lads, rip in .. !!

Sounds like Bateman won't play round 1.
Probably a good idea, I can imagine some players who slogged it out all off season would be pissed if someone turns up a week before the season starts and took their spot without earning it.

I feel as if the Staines inclusion is to counteract Khan-Pereira. fight speed with speed. he's not losing anything in the physical battle either. smart move from Sheens, as is the one to rest Bateman first up.

Insane that they would have the knights, dragons or Waynfins above WT. The only one I can see maybe piping wests is the Knights just down to them having Hastings and Wests sticking with Brooks.
Knights just have a bad culture. Need to stop acting like stars until you actually do something that warrants it. Ponga and Hastings will work but don't see the side doing much.
I think Brooks will go ok to be honest.
I'm just still worries about our edge defence and centres. Naden has played well recently but we will see round 1.
It’s not the experts tipping us to come last, Ennis and Cronk both had us between 10th-12th.
The Fox predictor is based on draw, recent form etc. (doesn’t take into account recruits or retention for the new season).

He deserves a spot but I'd play him in the centres.
