Team vs Manly Round 19

It's close but I also think Twal is better than Tamou. I think Twal is like our Finucane. I like him.

We really struggle with both those guys on the field at the same time though. They don't make tough metres and get a quick play the ball that we can play off. If they were taking the 3rd hit-up when we are on the front foot they are good.

I don't think both of them should be in the team together. Tamou is the captain and I like him as well. I think you got to rotate those guys in and out of the team.

I don't think Tamou was the right signing for us in relation to where we are at in our development but he isn't that bad either. It's just he is a worker/plodder type and so is Twal.

I’m hearing Mbye out this week with an ankle injury. Simpkin is on the reserves so you’d expect him to fill in

Our chances just went up a notch.

Even if Mbye is out through injury....why does Madge keep him in the top 17 every week.....because some on here cant see his value as a utility player because there is no depth...he helped Brooks come out of his shell and he has been playing well since,,,the hate on here comes from the lack of football knowledge, replaced by personal opinion because of his salary THAT WASNT HIS FAULT...

It has nothing todo with his salary. It’s todo with his lack of performance and his poisonous attitude.

Is this one of those moments where up until now you never realised “to do” was two words?

Totally agree with what you’re saying though.

Twal out (shoulder). Seyfarth onto bench.

This is a good move. I'd like to see Twal or Tamou in the team each week going forward but not both of them.

One good plodder is enough.

Twal isn't a plodder.
He needs to get out of third gear though.

He can offer us a lot more if he stops holding back.

He’s right on the plodder line. And to be fair someone that can’t get out of third gear is basically the definition of a plodder.

I think Twal’s role is really obvious. He’s not an impact guy, his value comes in his motor and workrate. He was killing it when playing big minutes, consistently 150+ metres.

He should be a starting prop playing 65 minutes a game. That opens up so many more options on the bench as well. The only issue is at the moment he seems only capable of doing this for a few weeks in a row.

Thats your opinion Mike which your entitled to...Madge and the selection committee dont see it the same way unfortunately for you..he adds value to the squad,Madge has spoken about the work he does off the field with the young guys as well...I think I will stick with Madges selections...

Of course it’s my opinion. I also think he gets picked because of his salary, not his performance. He needs to go ASAP.

So in your opinion,he has been used as a fullback,centre,hooker,5/8 and utility on the bench...we have no depth, but he has to go because you say so...irrespective of salary,he has had injuries, never tanked, speaks highly of the team and club, but because you dont rate him he has to go....right...

He tanks every match. His effort is half hearted at best. Also if you listen to what he says I’d say he is the one undermining Madge with the players. The guy is poisonous and needs to go.

He is a worked like Tamou. It's hard to carry both of them in your pack.

Twal is years better than tamou mate

Twal is coming into his prime, Tamou is on the down hill. But Tamou in his prime played for NSW and aus. Twal in his prime is being compaired to Tamou on his down hill. This is the thing, Twal right now is similar to old Jimmy...not a good sign

Last live game i watched was Tigers and Manly at Leichardt and it was a big win. Same committment as the cows and raiders and we win ,LETS back the Boys. This win takes us very close to the Eight.

They are going to be comin at our edges all day, but our best edge defender in Blore is left out. Work that out...

Is Luke Garner related to Madge somehow? Is Madge his uncle becuse why he keeps getting picked in front of the gun young forwards we have when he is out of form is beyond me… Kelma has been killing it, Seyfarth and Blore are guns…. Give them a gotdamn go for crying out loud!

I have been saying this for 18 months now, Madge bangs on about accountability, but only applies it to a select few

Really...really...hard to work out.

Madge preaches hard work etc etc...yet picks a backrower who does no dirty hit ups and arm grabs...ALL season.

Plays ALL game...yet averages 75 meters.

The statistically worst NRL 80 min backrower in the game...most others average way more meters AND play 40-60 mins. Garner plays 80 and averages way less.

Or it could also be that Madge's assistants are related to some of the players and are giving Madge false player stats. ?

Seriously what has Shawn Blore done since his debut? At least Garner runs great lines and is a legitimate attacking threat

Blore averages 44 meters...in basically 20 mins.
Garner averages 75.....in 80 mins.

Blore has made 57 of 58 tackles...one miss all year.
Garner arm grabs.

Garner runs great lines...but gets bent back one on one by smaller players even when he hits those holes. He averages 0.40 line breaks a game, despite being isolated one on one with smaller players all season.

Honestly, I don't even know what to say if people want to defend Garner. Maybe today is his one game a year he busts a coupe of tackles. Maybe it is not. But he is the worst NRL 80 min backrower in the comp on stats.

Really nice touch from the club

Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire has finalised his side for this evening’s Round 19 clash against the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

As announced on Saturday, Maguire has been forced to make one change to the squad originally named during the week with Alex Twal ruled out with a shoulder complaint — allowing Alex Seyfarth to join the interchange bench.

Experienced utility Michael Chee Kam has been named as the side’s 18th man with Shawn Blore dropping out of the squad.

The team announcement on Facebook is a thing of beauty.
They should play it to the players before the game.

I teared up!

Yeah mate me too, I know they are high paid footballers but it is hard to be away from family at times like this. Looking at Lucy's young bub, it would be really hard to be missing those moments. I think that was really classy of the club.
