Teddy plans to end career at WT

I'd take Tedesco back in a heartbeat.

This bloke at his best is argubaly the best player in the NRL.

He can single-handely change the momentum of games like he did on the weekend.

I really hope he comes back!

I like to eat fresh food and produce, not when its past is "Used By" Date

I dont want left overs anymore.

He's top 3 in regards to fullbacks in the game, no doubt about it. But lets be honest, when has he ever turned a game and been the difference in us winning? Great player, but he's never won us games when they have been on the line. Brooks has won us more games when its been in the balance than Tedesco has.

Just guessing but Luke could have lost us more games than he has won over his FG career. There is more to it than that. What is important also is bums on seats and tv audience etc.. Brooks would be lucky to attract the Salvation Army for sponsors enough said.

Gee I must be watching something else. No one player ever wins you a game unless he makes every tackle and scores every try, kicks goals and so on - however if you look at the player that turned games and kept us in games Teddy has been that consistently for us for his entire time in FG.
He is a special player and its unfortunate that he decided to leave because he is not easily replaced.Would have been great to build a stronger squad around him with a quality coach, however its not going to happen.

we've let go of some really good players in fifita, austin, moses, TMM, taupau, siro etc who've all done really well at their new clubs. Surely, there are factors like they needed a change of scenery etc etc but teddy will be what JT was to bulldogs.

For years and years down the track, even after he retires, we'll be thinking why did we let this guy go.

We didn't let him go. He walked. It's not the same thing.

So Horsemouth wants to get a retirement payment from us when he is past his use by date and the Roosters don’t want him anymore.

Use us to make you a star and then come back when you’re washed up and give your best years to the Roosters.

Tedesco would have been a star no matter where he was playing, he hasn't used anybody. He fulfilled his obligations, and was the one bright spot in the last few years of rubbish. The way the club and team has been while he's been here, It could be said that he became a star. "Despite" playing for us

And Jake Mullaney was always going to be a star too according to some, your point being?

You don’t have much comprehension of what "to use" is do you.

or, our management were too incompetent to strike the right deal to keep him. I recall Pascoe having a interview with Cleary about how Woods & Teddy were the clubs biggest priority.

Well both have gone, so someone at the club has failed?!

Yes the ROI isnt terrific but since 2000 they have finished first or second at the end of the premiership rounds eight times. Thats impressive in itself but making a GF on average every three years is also satisfying.

Certainly.

Brisbane have only won two premierships since 2000, but still have made the finals in 15 out of 17 years (not inclusive of this year,) and outside of the premiership years, they've made at least the second week of the finals a further 9 times.

So not counting this year, in 17 years, your team has made the second week of the finals 11 times at least, third week 7 times and the grand final 3 times, and won it twice. Yeah, it's only two premierships in 17 years, but they run well deep into the finals and have a culture of sustained success. That's why Easts and Brisbane get whomever they want and we sign cast offs.

Given all the advantages the Broncos have, that is a putrid return. They should be making the prelim final literally every season.

You serious?
If WT offered him $1.2 million per season and that still wasn't enough for him, how much are you proposing WT should of grovelled to his demands? $2 mill a year? We could of given him naming rights to our club I guess…......Wests Tedesco's or the James Tedesco Tigers. Jeesus Christ.

If someone doesn't want to be somewhere, they'll leave no matter how much money you're offering.

How much of the salary cap were we supposed to throw at him to stay Watto? 50%? And then when the club couldn't compete because they had to surround him with nuffies you'd be making the same comment about gross mismanagement.

If you believe those type of numbers and stories… All I know is:

1) Teddy & Woods were a PRIORITY
2) They have not been secured
3) Someone has failed

The rest is just fluff piece rubbish you WANT to believe!

The club looks to of been grossly mismanaged since inception… So they have the runs on the board?!

I think Tedesco may have stayed if we were renamed to the Tedesco all stars or perhaps Tedesco and associates. He would probably want all advertising rights as well

Guys the Roosters and others were aware his contract was up this year and would have been courting him for the previous 6 to 12 months especialy as he has shown mercenary traits previously. I wouldnt be surprised if the chooks got him into the game 3 origin team last year as an act of faith and a display of power. We had zero chance of keeping him.

OK, so people who are content with the fact that the club didn't let itself get bent over and rogered by Ted and his manager are just WANTING to believe monetary amounts thrown about, or get sucked in by "fluff pieces"?
Eagerly awaiting his true contract offer and other facts that you are presumably armed with. Fire away.
If DCE is on 1 mill or more per year it is very realistic to think the NSW Origin fullback would be worth as much.
