I have no doubt some people who post on internet forums have sources within the club.
My first issue is when people are not candid about the information. Happy, if you review the thread you'll see that you didn't say straight up front "this is what I know that I am prepared to share". You made smarmy remarks to people about their ignorance of what was happening. You waited for people to guess and then said something along the lines of "I'm glad some people are finally starting to get it". If you'd been candid initially people wouldn't have had to tease it out of you. I think it's an obnoxious way to share information, and it doesn't feel entirely genuine.
My second issue is when people close to a player are critical of the club. I think it is prudent to review the information you have been given and be aware at best the player does not fully understand the club's circumstances, and at worst is potentially biased.
Thirdly, I think those in the know would do well to understand why people are sceptical of unknown sources spread on message boards. I'm not suggesting the source should be named. I just think some understanding of the position of us plebs. I've been using rugby league forums for 15 years (that in itself is terrifying) and have lost count of the number of times I've read rumours which have not come to fruition. That's not to say they're all fabricated, just that by virtue the information is imperfect.
Happy, I am inclined to believe you do have inside information. I don't think you have gone about sharing it in the best way, I don't think you have critically analysed the information you have been given and accepted it is from one source, and I think you are being overly harsh on forum members who are sceptical of the information you've provided.
