Problem with TPA is when they are conditional upon the player signing for a particular club. They need a registry system that can distinguish TPAs that would be for the player regardless of where they signed from the ones based upon where they signed.

Then simply include the TPA in the cap if they are based upon signing to a particular club.

That's exactly what is supposed to happen under the current NRL salary cap rules - the NRL just doesn't bother policing it.

The problem is policing it

Who knows what goes down behind closed doors with under the table deals

I think the NRL should reveal what $ amounts but not who with TPA's players have

Keep the salary cap amount the players are paid secret

That's the best option I can think of

At least we have some clarity as to what is going on

I'm just wondering if this thread will pass the number of pages we had for the Luke Lewis thread, with everyone's sources should do

I think a lot of these sources are fake. Peeps - just leave this one to those of us who are in the know. I'll let you guys know when something happens.

Just to give out some more info. The boys will be training at concord today and they feel they have a shot at making the 8 this year.

If, and i stress IF Tedesco gets taken by the Dogs then the game can go and you know what itself. We're in the midst of producing one of the best juniors the club has ever produced and the moment we're starting to see the potential the rich clubs come along and say ''we'll take him thank you''. This comp is becoming more and more like the EPL every yr.

I agree, I've never been a fan of a draft. However if clubs like the dogs, storm and dogs continue to rape and pillage other clubs juniors there is no incentive to grow your juniors. If it continues, it will need to go down the AFL line where the NRL takes over all junior development

I hope he signs soon. My source says that he is thinking about signing a contract sometime in his future and possibly with us. I can also reveal that the boys are going to try and win the game this weekend.

I can't reveal my source but lets just say that he has access to the weststigers official website.

Hahahahha

Gents, don't stress.

Like the BMW at Rosehill on Saturday, It's a Dundeel.

Expect the announcement soon.

Except,Fiorente will have a say in that,a really big say too.
But there is a story in RLW about the dogs using Fifita's money to "chase not James Tedesco or Kevin Locke, but Peter Hiku."
Hiku is their target according to this story, that leaves easts and dogs out of it,so surely he stays.

I have no doubt some people who post on internet forums have sources within the club.

My first issue is when people are not candid about the information. Happy, if you review the thread you'll see that you didn't say straight up front "this is what I know that I am prepared to share". You made smarmy remarks to people about their ignorance of what was happening. You waited for people to guess and then said something along the lines of "I'm glad some people are finally starting to get it". If you'd been candid initially people wouldn't have had to tease it out of you. I think it's an obnoxious way to share information, and it doesn't feel entirely genuine.

My second issue is when people close to a player are critical of the club. I think it is prudent to review the information you have been given and be aware at best the player does not fully understand the club's circumstances, and at worst is potentially biased.

Thirdly, I think those in the know would do well to understand why people are sceptical of unknown sources spread on message boards. I'm not suggesting the source should be named. I just think some understanding of the position of us plebs. I've been using rugby league forums for 15 years (that in itself is terrifying) and have lost count of the number of times I've read rumours which have not come to fruition. That's not to say they're all fabricated, just that by virtue the information is imperfect.

Happy, I am inclined to believe you do have inside information. I don't think you have gone about sharing it in the best way, I don't think you have critically analysed the information you have been given and accepted it is from one source, and I think you are being overly harsh on forum members who are sceptical of the information you've provided.

We must have the same source!

Did he also tell you they were taking it one game at a time and they are training the house down

Maybe we do. My source told me Chris Lawrence said this game was going be a "big test".

Its OK Timmy ,I will send you a PM when I know who ,what and where

Your obviously upset that I said I would tell Steve Tiger and not yourself

And I'll try and not be obnoxious whilst doing this

Happy now Precious ??

Mate, I guarantee the second you know public confirmation will be less than 24 hours away, so I couldn't really give a toss.

I'm just explaining to you why people aren't as grateful as you would like them to be in the hopes you're stop with your little temper tantrum.

All I have tried to do is push the thread in the right direction when it is heading off with wild speculation

And your upset with the way I released the info :unamused: Things change almost daily as you might be able to imagine

I'm not upset about any of this , I just stated no wonder why people don't release info on the Forum because of the way it is treated by others

I just wonder why you care about the way I have released the info ??

Ever thought for my (and my sources ) own reasons we might have been trying to work out which posters are part of the club itself …....

At the moment I must admit your pretty high on the list ,especially when I look at your agendas

Problem is, the source always sounds fake.

Mine is a friend who knows someone in Tigers recruitment. I know and trust the friend, he knows and trusts his mate at the Tigers…

But you don't know me, or the friend. So it doesn't really help!

And no-one is going to name names for fear of getting people in trouble.

It's a Catch-22.

Happy, you clearly know Tedesco or somebody close to him. To the point you are trying to figure out who is who on an internet message board. I am a neville nobody and have no personal interest in what is at stake other than seeing the Tigers do well. I wish I worked in football but I can guarantee you don't.

I care because I find it frustrating that you are sinking the boot into the club. I'm yet to see you concede you don't know what salary cap pressures the club is under. I'm yet to see you concede the club might be striking a hard bargain and that this could actually be good business practice. I'm yet to see you acknowledge that you are hearing the fact through the prism of someone else's wants and wishes. From the sounds of things you have no information from the club itself.

I wouldn't say it upset or angered me, but I do think there was an heir of hubris and condescension about it. There was also no objectivity. I don't know why you didn't say "I have some ties to the parties involved in contract negotiations and I'm extremely concerned we might lose Tedesco. At this stage he has been offered a contract that is well belowed market value and the club is trying to emotionally blackmail him into staying. The offer he has received is less than Brookes and Moses are on. It will be extremely poor management if we lose Tedesco".

I'm just asking you to take a step back and be a bit more objective about it. To me it appears your 'source' is Tedesco himself or a member of his family. To that end any facts you hear are going to be impregnated with the emotions he feels about the situation. That doesn't entitle you to character assasinate Mayer and lambast the management of the negotiation process. If you know more and can't spell out specifics then I understand and that's fair enough. I just think you could be a little less loaded about the whole thing.

Someone just asked the mole if his staying he said his staying.

He has been saying this for a week, but he is also a Wests Tigers Supporter… Hope he is right!

If the mole - is a Wests Tigers supporter then he/she/shim would/should/could have inside information. That can't be bad then.

now we have a football fan forum feeding paranoia and fear. How ridiculous is that!

If the information you have posted is such that you need to be careful about who hears it, or you worry about what they may do with that information - then don't post it!

Sorry Timmy but the only comment I have made in regards to Mayer or the club since we spoke about this last week was in regards to this (possibly this thread or the Fifita one ) was that it was up to Mayer if we do or don't sign him

How that is sticking the boot in I will never know

Why do you keep bringing up who I'm speaking to in regards to this info ??

Does it matter that much ??
