Tedesco Thread || He's staying!

i think he owes a debt of loyalty for the time the club has stood by him during his many periods of injury
Being looked after by the club, given time to heal and another chance to play has got to be worth something…..not to mention fostering his young footy career etc
The club has ditched some good fullbacks in recent years to make way for this great young fella
Great to see him going so well

Give him a blank cheque. His combination with Brooks after just FOUR games is invaluable

As a Souths fan said to me tonight why would you leave the Tigers to play with crap halves at the Dogs and over-rated halves at the Roosters when you can play with Luke Brooks.

James Tedesco is the best young fullback in the NRL. Barring injuries next year spine of Tedesco (I think he will stay), Moses (he is very talented and has a combination with Brooks), Brooks and Robbie will be amongst the best in the NRL.

Like any footballer he owes the club nothing, but I get the feeling that their is a real bond forming in this team, a few old heads mixed with some rip tear forwards and some real young talent, not unlike 2005\. So maybe Teddy wants to be part of it in the coming years.

i think so. playing team sport does give you a tight bond with the teammates who go through good times and bad, and knowing the club sees a big future there for him, playing alongside guys he has come through the ranks with, with a quite reasonable thought that they could all be very successful over time are all great reasons to want to stay.

they just need to be weighed up with all the other factors that can be offered elsewhere. it is difficult for us because we are tigers fans and dont want to lose such a vital piece of the puzzle that has been incomplete for so long. if we were dogs fans we would be excited at the prospect of him going to canterbury.

also, if we were all dogs fans id probably hate you all!

ah, tedesco was a prudent investment by the club. sure they have been great to him through his injuries/time missed but by the same token it is because he is likely to become a great player - which is beneficial for the tigers.

if you buy an investment property you dont sell it 2 years down the track because the housing market has dropped; you know it is going to give you a significant return on your investment given the right amount of time, a little patience.

If I had Brooks feeding me tries every week I wouldn't leave especially when there is gonna be a heap more of them. As long as our pigs do the work they will both have fun. Anyone yet said - Benji who?

What I really want to know is how Tedesco becomes super hot property after two successful rounds and a good nines tournament, even though we mostly got lapped.

Another MOM….Leading the Dally M's....Scored a try in every game.....Do You Get It Now ?
Do you get it ?

I get it, the best fullback we've had since Hodgo and I think he can do even better.

Call me bias, and brush it off as emotion from tonights result, but one of the things he has to be weighing up is his combination with Brooks. Theres the potential for something really special with those two playing together, it would be a shame for him to walk out on that and leave us wondering with what could have been if they both break through the glass ceiling at separate clubs.

Guys , no one seems to get it,
He wants to stay !!!
The reason he's talking to other clubs is obvious , tigers offered him crap money
, and the longer they let it go the more they are going to have to pay to keep him
If he was tigers no 1 priority , why wouldn't you sign him up in the off season on a half decent contract and don't let the vultures any where near him
No tigers style is offer him peanuts , everyone could see by the end of last year he had the goods , farah even said he thought he was our best player in the back end of last year ,
Obviously our recruitment dept needs to be looked at ,

How much did they offer him?

How much have other clubs offered?

Massive assumption there

You're probably going to tell me that Tigers are one of the best teams in the comp, 2 strong wins out of 3\. We were 2/3 this time last year too.

Don't get me wrong, I think Tedesco is going great. But I think the hype from outside the club is excessive - the media only remembers your last few games, they forget that last year Tedesco was playing fairly average footy.

Two games doesn't make a season nor career; come back and talk to me about MOM points when he's leading Dally M after 20 rounds.

If Tedesco leaves is NSW Cup player Kurtis Rowe a potential NRL fullback?
Any feedback re: ability & potential?

^^ I've also heard Kurtis Rowe was carving up the under 20s. He's playing NSW cup now?

Yeah he goes alright, although he's not in Tedesco's class.

but ACL always take a extra year before they are really healed… its the 2nd year when a player gets back to himself. the other reason is now with different straight attack he is more involved not Benji running sideways

How do u know the tigers offered him a crap contract? How do u know that's the reason he is looking around????? You don't!
It's obvious teddy is a huge part of Potters plan and as such the club will have him as a priority to sign him, but his manager wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't look around to see what he is worth! This is standard behaviour, just because he is seeking his worth doesn't mean he will leave
