Daily Telegraph reporting that, on Tedesco, Dogs have decided their money could be spent better elsewhere. Don't have a link, saw it in the back couple of pages. Article was mainly about Fifita, but mentioned Teddy at the end.

So the Dogs interest in Tedesco, whilst serious, seems only to depend on weather Hasler can get his buds the Stewart brothers and/or Hiku over to Belmore, What it also reveals is that they don't consider Teddy their best option either. What i also don't get is that they don't need to throw any serious money around when they have Templeman sitting there in the wings anyways. He'll be the reason they don't throw big money around.

The way I read that article is that the dogs consider that their money for Fifita can be better spent chasing Tedesco.

Player agents are not your friends, they are business partners.

Much speculation has transpired on exactly why the Dogs pulled the pin on the deal.

Fifita’s comments, as I’ve stated, obviously played a major part along with his downturn in form.

All this coincided with a young player they’ve had their eye on for a long time named James Tedesco blossoming into a genuine star.

They weighed things up and simply decided their money can be spent better elsewhere

Ha ha, I fail the english comprehension test! I only read the last two lines after seeing Tedesco in bold. Think I read what I wanted to hear. Thanks for the correction 851.

Andrew Webster in the SMH is reporting something different, that Fifita made his comments after the Bulldogs tabled an offer that was substantially less than the Memorandum of Understanding agreement. This is why Fifita has made an application to the NRL to have the situation reviewed.

Perhaps the Dogs have decided he isn't worth as much as they initially offered, perhaps that money is being utilised for another deal, but if true, it is a low act from the club to sabotage a written offer and then blame Fifita in the media for being outspoken.

In defence of Fifita
>
You know how The Fonz could never say s-s-sorry? Well, this column is more Ralph Malph and would like to offer an apology to Andrew Fifita.
>
A cautious apology.
>
It was easy to cop the line coming out of Belmore about the Bulldogs going cold on their $3.5 million deal with the Sharks prop because of his stated desire to sign with rugby union.
>
To her credit, chief executive Raelene Castle said that wasn’t the reason the deal was aborted - but there were others within the club who were certainly pushing it.
>
Evidently, Fifita made his comments last Friday after being told the day before the contract on the table from the Bulldogs was about $1 million less than promised.
>
The Dogs performed a great smother earlier this week, suggesting it was a mutual decision.
>
Maybe not.
>
Believe us: there is more to play out with this one.

its fair to say you don't get to being a ceo of a corporation by being ill informed or stupid. mayer knows exactly what needs to be done to secure Tedesco's services. When you get to that level it is all about reputation and legacy. He wont want to be known as the ceo who let the best off contract full back go. Mayer has significant dealings with people in the commercial world and surely a deal can be reached. the fifita debacle and his tpas must be a lesson which would worry Tedesco's management.

It's fair to say…........ no matter what work you do when its time to work you work. That way you get to keep your job.

the clubs cant guarantee tpas. personally I would be worried about the huge potential that the deal may fall over and there is little you can do when the contract is signed. Tedesco be warned

If Teddy does sign with the hyenas, sorry bulldogs I hope it is announced soon so that we can do a Canberra and show him before round 13 what a scum they are and how foolish he would be to go. Any team that reneges on a contract and then lies about the reason really can't be trusted.

I expect the WT to announce the signing of Tedesco next week in the lead up the the first home game at Campbelltown. Teddy is from Southwestern Sydney and it would really bring the fans out to the game….

To those on here saying tedesco's resigning is a done deal, I can confirm he toured the dogs training facilities late last week.

So the obvious conclusion is that the bulldogs are still well and truly in the running for his signature.

I remember when Robbie's contract was coming to an end, his manager (the same one Teddy has) had him being photographed at Belmore with Terry Lamb in an attempt to squeeze some extra dollars out of us.
