Yep - they are both guns. Gavet has more impact but I really like Ava as a player. I love the rotation we have there now.

Ava is building consistently. I would sign them both. I believe Gavet is going to be one of the top forwards in the game over the next few years. Plus he is buy one get one free…

Yeah Keni Gavet is a bit of a gun down in the NYC too so that's a valid point.

But I really, really rate Ava. If he had more involvement he would be hot hot property. As is his role he is ace number 5 right now so he's being overlooked. He could easily be a starting prop and the centre man for some other clubs imo.
 
Will they hold the announcement back to coincide with the Round 11 Anniversary game v Brisbane at Cambo?

They will be trying all sorts to get a crowd here imo (despite what the foil hat brigade would have you believe)
 
Someone asked our ceo the other day for us to get more members is to re sign one key player then our ceo replied their will be on re signing next week so hopefully we finally confirm James Tedesco re signing.

hi willow, he is staying. tigers have had to back load his contract though to match the bigger offers. Hope you guys don't get stung. loads of talent seems injury prone though

Nothing will be happening this week or probably next unless something extraordinary happens in regards to an offer increase
 
heard from a reasonable source that Teddesco is likely to commit shortly…..

Shortly could mean anything....my mrs being ready shortly is 30 minutes away, the badgery creek airport commencing shortly is 5 years away and the world could end shortly is several thousand years away.....

so this is of little help other then apparently we are in front....
 
If we offer Teddy more than 500k and lose a couple of Gavet, Ava, Sitaleki, Thompson etc. because of it then it's a bad result. Our pack is our strength atm and is what is winning us games.

Teddy is still only a 21 year old and and he may be injury prone. Doesn;t matter how talented he may well be/ is, if he (or more likely his manager) is too greedy then feel free to go to the rorters or dogs where that sort of attitude will fit in perfectly.

Hope he stays but definitely not at any cost. & if his manager wants to play the delay delay delay game then too bad also.

We're no longer a club that can be held to ransom or needs to pay overs.

He wants to stay , but if the money isn't market value he won't

It is as simple as that

I understand that Mayer has many eggs he is trying to fit into one basket , but if you lose the best egg it won't matter what eggs are in the basket to compensate

Rowe is doing an admirable job , but he certainly isn't in Tedesco's league

Softlaw he doesn't want 500 k that's for sure and certain , he wants market value

ahhh, cool. My impression from a lot of the carry-on to date was that we was after ~$540k.

So what went wrong up north Qld way?
Good news with that price if it is in the ballpark of accuracy. Even backloaded that sounds doable with the increase in the cap over the next few years.
