May be way over at raiders but he will never play soo or for australia as canberra are a mess. He will be playing with a team getting smashed each week. Mate why is he so greedy he is only 20 odd. He will have 3 more contracts. He must be friends with ben teo. I just wish tedesco would decide. I did here that his father wants him to take the cash. Father like son I suppose.

This whole contract saga has gone on too long,I am over it,who does he think he is Scott Prince.

Only a thought but if he was going to take the cash. Why wouldnt he signed with dogs 2 months ago at 750 thousand a year. He may get more at canberra but that will be offset by less money in rep jerseys. As canberra are a basket case and receive little air time on tv. So less sponsorship opportunities also. Teddy is a good player but inglis and slater are not even on 1 mill a year.f milford wouldbe the worst player ever to be offered 1 mill a year. In all fairness teddy has a lot to prove to think his market value is more than inglis and slater.

I heard last night on 2UE sports show with Gibbsy and Brandy that Canberra were making a massive move for Tedesco since they are sure that Milford is going to Brisbane. I wouldn't care how much they paid me you would have to be very stupid to go and play for the Raiders coached by that imposter Stuart and leave all the good young talent the Tigers have. Plus you have to live in Canberra. I am not worried that we would lose him to that club.

Its very complicated at the moment , but the offer on the table was way over what the Tigers offer was

Thought you might have let us know earlier canberra had apparently entered the fray…oh well

Thought I had sorry

This whole Tedesco re-signing saga is taking way too long and that does not bode well for WT imo. Tedesco has been out of action for over a month now, giving him the perfect opportunity to get his future all sorted and yet he is still stuffing everyone around. I'm betting the dollar value of the offer we have tabled is a decent one that guarantees him a permanent first grade position in a team with a revived culture and a very bright future - so what the hell is he waiting for if it isn't just more money?

He is a player of the future for sure and I would really hate to lose him, but in all honestly, I don't believe he has proven himself enough in the NRL, as yet, to be demanding huge amounts of dollars and holding the club to ransom like this for so long. He has enormous potential, but as we have all seen before, potential isn't always realised in the game of Rugby League. The fact is that, at present, Tedesco has spent more time off the field than on it in his short NRL career and he isn't anywhere near the consistent playing standard of the top fullbacks in the game. I think young Tedesco needs to pull his head in, understand that he ain't no Billy Slater just yet, realise the value of the offer from the Tigers and re-sign with the club that has supported him through all the ups and downs of his brief Rugby League career, thus far.

Mate if he signs with canberra make him play reserves rest of year. But what do you expect from a k7d from western sydney. He is no greg inglis. Stewart is on only 600 thou a year. Inglis 850 a year. And your trying to tell me hismarket value is above that. Let him go happy. Just a greedy kid

Where did you get he has been offered the figures you are throwing around mate ??

The Tigers have offered him nothing like those figures :roll

I would be very careful in these negotiations I feel Tedesco is an injury prone player that will hinder his career….in my opinion only playing a hand full off games and sitting most of his career on the side line does not justify huge amounts of money .
Remember potential is just that nothing yet has me thinking he is going to have a long future in the game ,maybe 8 games straight without injury! Not having made a decision is a bit of a kick in the guts to the club if his only interest is money let him move on .

Completely agree Flippedy. A few weeks ago I would have been pretty despondent at losing him but the longer this goes on, the more I am thinking I am OK if he walks.

I have to admit to being a bit naive with how these contract negotiations are managed and pan out with announcements etc.
Is it possible that he has committed to the Tigers but both the club and he are waiting until he is match ready before they make the big announcement? It would make more sense and make for better media if it's announced before he runs out for a game rather than when he's siting on the sideline in a cast. Just a (hopeful) thought.

Well if a touch over 300 k is a decent offer I'll eat my hat and anyone elses for that matter

The Tigers are trying to buy his loyalty to the club

He's been offered close to 200 k extra to join the Raiders

He's a helluva lot more loyal than I am and wouldn't be hanging around even if I was coached by R Stuart

I can't believe how quickly people have turned on the bloke :brick:

Haven't turned on him, Happy, I'm just tired of the whole drawn out scenario of the club having to court a player, who really hasn't proven all that much in the top grade and has spent most of his career on the sidelines. I think a touch over 300K is reasonable for a kid of his age and experience, or 350k perhaps - God I'd kill to earn that sort of money lol.

Also, there are more aspects of the deal to be considered than just the money - as I mentioned, a guaranteed first grade position within a team on the up and up, playing with guys he already knows well and not having to move to out of Sydney etc. Seriously, what is wrong with showing some loyalty for 300+K? I'm sure he would be well looked after on top of that, especially if he continues to develop into the player we all believe he can be. He can name his price, if and when that happens, but till then I think he should look closely at the advantages he has playing with WT and yeah, why not show some loyalty to the club that has developed him and stood by him? There is nothing wrong with loyalty - though sadly it is becoming a dying trait in rugby League circles these days.

is that 'touch over 300' the amount just for the first season of his contract, followed by significant increases over the next few years (bringing his average yearly salary for the life of the contract to a lot more than the 300) or is 'a little over 300' the average yearly salary over the life of the contract?

What is wrong with taking the cash ? Are you telling me you would stay with your current employer even if someone else down the road offered an extra 300k a year.

NewsFlash..It is a professional sport. Why shouldn't he take the cash.
According to Happy who seems to know what is happening Mayer has offered way way less than he get get elsewhere and doesn't seem to want to budge.

So does he really have a choice ?
Seriously if he can get double elsewhere…Can you really blame him for leaving.

Its not park football what can we offer besides playing with your mates ?

Having said all that None of us know all the facts...not even smoking BS

Look I love Tedesco and hope to god that he stays, but I don't understand how anyone could bag him for considering offers much larger than ours. He is an extremely talented player and it's not up to him how much other teams offer him (whether it's over or under market value). He's a young bloke weighing up his future, it doesn't seem to be effecting the players, so why should it effect us? If he takes the money that's on offer at Canberra I won't lose any respect for him, it's his decision, but as I've said I desperately hope he stays.
